The Chief Technology Officer will have a broad and impactful scope of responsibilities, driving the company’s technological vision and execution. Success in this role will be measured by the scalability of the platform, the productivity and morale of the engineering team, and the successful delivery of innovative product features.
Technology Vision & Strategy
- Develop and articulate a compelling long-term technology vision and strategy that aligns with the company’s ambitious business goals.
- Create, manage, and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to both new initiatives and ongoing platform enhancements.
- Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, such as AI/ML, blockchain, and advanced data analytics, to drive innovation and create a sustainable competitive advantage.
- Own the technology budget, making informed decisions on build vs. buy, vendor selection, and infrastructure investments to maximize ROI.
Engineering Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing, multi-disciplinary engineering organization, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Implement and refine best practices for the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including agile methodologies, CI/CD, DevOps, and robust quality assurance processes.

Architecture, Infrastructure & Security

- Ensure the company’s systems and infrastructure adhere to the highest standards of performance, reliability, and disaster recovery.
- Establish and enforce a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy, protecting sensitive customer data and intellectual property from emerging threats.
- Drive compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards, such as SOC 2, GDPR, and PCI DSS, working closely with legal and compliance teams.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as a key member of the executive team, contributing to overall company strategy, planning, and decision-making.

We are seeking an exceptional individual with a demonstrated track record of technology leadership and success in fast-paced, high-growth environments. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Required Experience & Skills
Executive Leadership Experience
A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership capacity (e.g., CTO, VP of Engineering) for a technology-driven company.
Scale-Up Expertise
Proven experience scaling an engineering organization through a significant growth phase (e.g., from 50 to 200+ engineers) in a startup or scale-up environment.
Fintech Domain Knowledge
Deep experience within the Fintech industry is highly preferred. Expertise in areas such as payments, lending, digital banking, wealth management, or regtech is a significant asset.
Technical Acumen
Strong hands-on background in software architecture and development. Expertise in designing and managing complex, distributed systems in a modern cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Architectural Depth
Demonstrable experience with modern architectural patterns and principles, particularly microservices, event-driven architectures, and API-first design.
Security & Compliance Focus
A thorough understanding of cybersecurity best practices and experience navigating the complex regulatory and compliance landscape of the financial services industry.
Inspirational Leadership

Business Acumen

Education
