Key Responsibilities of VP, Global HR with an Industrial Equipment Co. – Denver, CO

The Vice President of Global Human Resources will have a broad and impactful scope of responsibilities, encompassing the full spectrum of HR functions on a global scale. Success in this role requires a blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution.

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global HR strategy that supports the company’s long-term business plans, including organic growth, international expansion, and potential M&A activities.
  • Serve as a strategic partner and coach to the executive leadership team, providing guidance on organizational effectiveness, leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Utilize HR analytics and data-driven insights to inform business decisions, identify trends, and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
  • Champion and cultivate a corporate culture that promotes employee engagement, innovation, accountability, and a commitment to the company’s core values.
  • Lead the HR function through organizational change, ensuring effective communication, employee support, and smooth transitions.

Talent Management & Acquisition:

  • Design and implement a global talent acquisition strategy to attract, recruit, and retain top-tier talent in a competitive market, with a focus on critical engineering, sales, and leadership roles.
  • Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding and performance management to career development and offboarding, ensuring a positive and consistent employee experience.
  • Establish a robust succession planning process for key leadership and critical roles across the organization to ensure business continuity and develop a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Drive performance management philosophies and systems that align individual and team goals with corporate objectives, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous feedback.

Organizational Development & Employee Engagement:

  • Lead initiatives related to organizational design and development to ensure the company structure is agile, efficient, and scalable for future growth.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive leadership and employee development programs that enhance skills, build capabilities, and support career progression.
  • Spearhead global employee engagement and retention strategies, using surveys and feedback mechanisms to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted action plans.
  • Promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives, embedding DE&I principles into all aspects of the employee lifecycle and fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.

Total Rewards & HR Operations:

  • Oversee the design and administration of global compensation, benefits, and recognition programs that are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the company’s total rewards philosophy.
  • Ensure the company’s compensation strategies, including base pay, incentive plans, and executive compensation, are effective in attracting and retaining top talent.
  • Lead the HR operations team to ensure the efficient and accurate delivery of HR services, including payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS management.
  • Leverage technology to optimize HR processes, enhance HR data analytics capabilities, and improve the overall employee experience.

Employee Relations & Compliance:

  • Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations and ensuring fair and consistent resolutions.
  • Ensure the company’s compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and reporting requirements across all countries of operation, adeptly navigating complex international labor laws.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that reflect best practices and support a positive and productive work environment.

Requirements for the VP, Global HR with an Industrial Equipment Co. – Denver, CO

The successful candidate will be a seasoned and strategic HR executive with a passion for building great organizations. This role requires a leader who can operate at both the strategic and tactical levels and who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment.

Educational & Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree (MBA or Master’s in HR/Organizational Development) is strongly preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR are highly desirable.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 7-10 years in a senior HR leadership role (Director, Sr. Director, or VP level).
  • Demonstrated experience leading the HR function for a global organization with operations across multiple continents (North America, Europe, APAC).
  • Significant experience in the industrial equipment, manufacturing, engineering, or a related B2B industrial sector is required.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing strategic HR initiatives that have driven tangible business results.
  • Experience with M&A, including due diligence and post-merger integration, is a significant plus.
