Key Responsibilities of VP, FP&A, Treasury Lead with a Public Software Company – Austin, TX

This dual-faceted role requires expertise across the full spectrum of corporate finance. Your responsibilities will be broad and impactful, encompassing strategic planning, financial reporting, capital management, and team leadership.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Strategic Financial Leadership

Lead the annual operating plan (AOP), quarterly forecasting, and long-range strategic planning processes. Partner with the CFO and executive team to set financial goals and develop strategies to achieve them.

Performance Analysis & Reporting

Oversee the preparation of comprehensive financial reporting packages for the executive team, Board of Directors, and investors. Provide insightful analysis of financial results, variance analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

SaaS Metrics Mastery

Develop, monitor, and report on a deep understanding of key SaaS metrics, including Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Lifetime Value (LTV), and Net Revenue Retention (NRR), providing insights to drive business performance.

Business Partnership

Serve as a trusted financial advisor to business unit leaders across the organization (e.g., Sales, Marketing, R&D, G&A), providing decision support for new initiatives, investments, and resource allocation.

Investor Relations Support

Play a key role in the quarterly earnings process, including assisting in the preparation of earnings scripts, press releases, Q&A documents, and investor presentations.

Process & Systems Optimization

Continuously improve FP&A processes for greater efficiency and accuracy. Lead initiatives to enhance financial systems (ERP, planning tools) to support scalable growth.

Team Development

Recruit, manage, and mentor a world-class FP&A team, promoting professional growth and building a strong talent pipeline.

Treasury & Capital Management

Global Treasury Strategy

Develop and execute a comprehensive global treasury strategy, including cash management, liquidity planning, and investment policy optimization to support the company’s operational needs and strategic objectives.

Capital Structure & Financing

Manage the company’s capital structure, including overseeing credit facilities, managing debt covenants, and evaluating and executing capital markets transactions (debt and equity financing) as needed.

Cash Flow Forecasting

Oversee the development of a robust short-term and long-term global cash flow forecasting process to ensure adequate liquidity and anticipate funding needs.

Risk Management

Identify and manage financial risks, including interest rate risk and foreign exchange (FX) exposure. Develop and implement hedging strategies where appropriate.

Banking & Financial Relationships

Manage and cultivate relationships with commercial banks, investment banks, and credit rating agencies.

Capital Allocation

Provide analytical support for capital allocation decisions, including share repurchase programs, dividends, and strategic investments.

Compliance & Controls

Ensure strict compliance with all treasury-related policies, procedures, and internal controls, including SOX requirements.

We are seeking a candidate with a distinguished career in finance, specifically within the public technology sector. The following qualifications are essential for success in this role.

Required Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Experience

A minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership capacity overseeing both FP&A and Treasury functions.

Industry Expertise

Demonstrable experience working within a publicly traded software or SaaS company is mandatory. A deep understanding of the business models, metrics, and financial complexities of this industry is critical.

Public Company Acumen

Extensive experience with the financial reporting and compliance environment of a U.S. public company, including a strong understanding of SEC regulations, US GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).

Leadership

Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across multiple finance disciplines. A track record of building scalable and effective finance organizations.

Executive Presence
