The VP of Engineering, Digital will have a broad range of responsibilities, encompassing strategic leadership, team development, technical execution, and cross-functional collaboration. Strategic and Technical Vision
Define and articulate the long-term technical vision and strategy for all digital products. Drive key architectural decisions, ensuring our platforms are scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable.
Leadership and Team Development
Lead, mentor, and grow a multi-disciplinary engineering organization across front-end, back-end, mobile, platform, and SRE teams. Recruit and retain top-tier engineering talent. Execution and Delivery Excellence
Oversee the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) from ideation to deployment and maintenance. Champion and refine Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies to improve velocity, quality, and predictability. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the engineering organization, such as deployment frequency, lead time for changes, and system uptime.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as a key partner to the executive team, product management, design, sales, and marketing. Ensure tight alignment between engineering activities and the product roadmap. Communicate technology strategy, project status, and risks effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Operational and Financial Management

Requirements for the VP of Engineering, Digital with a leading B2B Software Company – Redmond, WA
We are seeking a proven leader with a strong track record of building and scaling successful engineering organizations and delivering complex software products.
Executive Leadership Experience
A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership capacity (e.g., VP, Senior Director, or Director of Engineering). Demonstrable experience managing and scaling engineering teams of 100+ individuals in a B2B SaaS or enterprise software company.
Technical Depth and Architectural Acumen
A strong technical background, preferably as a hands-on architect or principal engineer earlier in your career. Deep expertise in designing and building scalable, distributed systems using modern, cloud-native architectures (e.g., microservices, serverless). Extensive experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Process and Methodology Mastery
Proven expertise in implementing and optimizing modern software development practices, including Agile (Scrum, Kanban), DevOps, CI/CD, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). A data-driven approach to measuring and improving engineering processes and outcomes.
Business Acumen
A strong understanding of the business drivers behind technology decisions. Experience partnering closely with product and business leaders to translate business strategy into a technology roadmap. Experience with budget management and financial planning for a large engineering organization.

Educational Background
