Role Overview for Head of Real Estate Development, Industrial with a Commercial Firm – Miami, FL

As the Head of Industrial Real Estate Development, you will be the strategic leader responsible for the entirety of the firm’s industrial development platform throughout Florida and the greater Southeast region. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, you will have full P&L responsibility and autonomy to source, entitle, design, finance, construct, and lease a robust pipeline of ground-up industrial and logistics projects. The ideal candidate is a master of the development lifecycle, possessing deep market knowledge, an extensive network of industry contacts, and a proven ability to execute institutional-quality projects. You will be instrumental in setting the strategic direction, identifying emerging submarkets and opportunities, and ultimately building a portfolio that delivers superior risk-adjusted returns for the firm and its investors. Strategic Planning and Execution

Develop and implement a comprehensive, multi-year strategic plan for the industrial development division. Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify and prioritize target submarkets, product types (e.g., last-mile logistics, cold storage, bulk distribution), and investment theses.

Deal Sourcing and Acquisitions

Proactively source and originate new development opportunities, including land acquisitions and value-add redevelopment projects. Leverage your extensive network of brokers, landowners, and industry professionals to build and maintain a consistent deal pipeline. Financial Analysis and Underwriting

Entitlements and Pre-Development

Design and Construction Management

Oversee the project design and construction phases. Capital Markets and Financing

Requirements for the Head of Real Estate Development, Industrial with a Commercial Firm – Miami, FL

Experience

A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in commercial real estate development, with a deep and demonstrable focus on ground-up industrial and logistics projects. A proven track record of successfully leading and delivering multiple large-scale projects from acquisition through disposition is required.

Market Expertise

An expert-level understanding of the South Florida real estate market, particularly Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. This includes intimate knowledge of local zoning codes, entitlement processes, key political figures, and economic drivers.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Urban Planning, Engineering, or a related field is required. An MBA or a Master’s degree in Real Estate Development (MRED) is highly preferred.
