Key Responsibilities of Director, Global Supply Chain with a CPG Company – Cincinnati, OH

The Director, Global Supply Chain will have a broad and challenging mandate. Success in this role will be measured by improvements in key performance indicators across service, cost, quality, and agility. Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

Develop, articulate, and execute a comprehensive global supply chain strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives, market expansion plans, and sustainability goals. Champion a forward-thinking vision for the supply chain, anticipating future trends and challenges.

End-to-End Supply Chain Management

Provide executive oversight for all core supply chain functions, including demand planning, procurement, materials management, inventory control, transportation, warehousing, and order fulfillment. Ensure seamless integration and communication across all stages of the supply chain.

Team Development & Mentorship

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global supply chain organization. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. Attract and retain top talent to build a robust leadership pipeline.

Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Leadership

Supplier & Partner Relationship Management

Cost Optimization & Financial Acumen

Develop and manage the multi-million dollar global supply chain budget. Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives across procurement, logistics, and inventory without compromising quality or service levels. Improve working capital through effective inventory management strategies.

Process Improvement & Innovation

Drive a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean, Six Sigma, and other best-practice methodologies. Leverage data analytics and business intelligence tools to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and uncover opportunities for optimization.

Technology & Digital Transformation

Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of supply chain technologies, including ERP, WMS, TMS, and advanced planning systems. Champion digital transformation projects to enhance visibility, agility, and predictive capabilities.

Risk Management & Compliance

Develop and implement robust risk mitigation strategies to address potential disruptions, including geopolitical instability, natural disasters, and supplier failures. Ensure full compliance with all international trade laws, customs regulations, and quality standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Serve as a key business partner to leaders in Sales, Marketing, Finance, R&D, and Manufacturing. Collaborate closely to support new product introductions, promotional activities, and market entries, ensuring the supply chain is a proactive enabler of business growth.

Requirements for the Director, Global Supply Chain with a CPG Company – Cincinnati, OH

We are seeking a candidate with a distinguished career in supply chain leadership, demonstrating both strategic prowess and operational excellence. The specific qualifications and attributes for this role are:

Educational Background

A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is required. An MBA or other advanced degree is highly preferred.

Professional Experience

A minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership capacity overseeing a global, end-to-end supply chain.

Industry Expertise

Deep and demonstrable experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Food & Beverage, or a related fast-paced manufacturing industry is essential. Must understand the complexities of retail distribution, seasonal demand, and high-volume operations.
