Key Responsibilities of Chief Technology Officer – Minneapolis, MN

Requirements for the Chief Technology Officer – Minneapolis, MN
We are seeking a candidate with a distinguished career in technology leadership and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the medical device industry.
Educational Background
An advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field is strongly preferred.
Executive Experience
A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in technology roles, with at least 7-10 years in a senior leadership capacity (e.g., CTO, VP of Engineering) overseeing sizable, multi-disciplinary technology teams.
Industry Expertise
Demonstrable experience in the medical device, MedTech, life sciences, or another highly regulated industry is mandatory. A proven track record of successfully bringing regulated software and hardware products to market is essential.
Technical Proficiency
Deep and broad technical knowledge across software development (SaaS, mobile, embedded systems), hardware engineering, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), data architecture, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and cybersecurity.
Regulatory Acumen
In-depth knowledge of the regulatory landscape for medical devices, including FDA 21 CFR Part 820, Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO 13485, IEC 62304, HIPAA, and GDPR.
Leadership and Communication Skills
Exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Proven experience in building and scaling technology organizations.
