The SVP, Global Talent Management will have a broad and impactful remit, responsible for the full lifecycle of talent within the organization. This includes, but is not limited to, the following key areas:

Global Talent Strategy & Vision

Collaborate with the CHRO and executive leadership to design and implement a cohesive global talent management strategy that aligns with the company’s long-term business objectives. Champion a culture of performance, development, and continuous improvement, ensuring all talent initiatives are integrated and support a holistic employee experience.

Succession Planning & Pipeline Development

Spearhead a robust, data-driven global succession planning process for all executive and mission-critical roles. Identify and assess high-potential leaders, ensuring a ready and diverse pipeline of talent through targeted development plans, mentorship programs, and strategic exposure opportunities. Regularly present talent reviews and succession updates to the CEO and Board of Directors.

Leadership & Executive Development

Architect and deliver a world-class portfolio of leadership development programs, from emerging leaders to senior executives. Implement executive coaching, action learning projects, and assessment tools to build leadership capabilities required to navigate a dynamic and competitive global landscape. Foster a coaching mindset among managers to elevate team performance.

Performance Management Evolution

Reimagine and evolve the company’s performance management philosophy and systems. Move beyond traditional annual reviews to a model of continuous feedback, goal alignment, and development-focused conversations that drive employee engagement and business results. Ensure performance metrics are clear, fair, and directly linked to organizational goals.

Learning & Organizational Development (L&D)

Oversee the global L&D function, creating a culture of continuous learning and curiosity. Develop and deploy innovative learning solutions, including digital learning platforms, that enhance employee skills, support career mobility, and address critical business needs. Ensure training programs deliver a measurable return on investment.

Talent Analytics & Insights

Build and lead a talent analytics function to provide data-driven insights that inform talent strategy and decision-making. Utilize predictive analytics to identify talent risks, forecast future needs, and measure the effectiveness of talent programs. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for talent acquisition, development, and retention.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Integration

Partner closely with the Head of DEI to embed principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion into every aspect of the talent lifecycle. From sourcing and assessment to promotion and succession, ensure all processes are equitable and contribute to building a more diverse and inclusive workforce and leadership team.

Change Management & Organizational Effectiveness

Act as a key advisor to the business on organizational design, change management, and team effectiveness. Lead talent-related initiatives associated with mergers, acquisitions, and business transformations, ensuring smooth integration and cultural alignment.

Strategic Workforce Planning

Partner with finance and business leaders to conduct long-range strategic workforce planning. Analyze current and future talent needs, identify critical skill gaps, and develop comprehensive strategies to build, buy, or borrow the talent required to achieve strategic goals. Implement advanced people analytics to forecast talent supply and demand.

Requirements for the SVP, Global Talent Management with a Major Manufacturer – Cleveland, OH

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic executive with a deep passion for talent and a history of delivering results in complex environments. The ideal candidate will possess:

Educational Background

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree (MBA, MSHR, etc.) is strongly preferred.

Executive Experience

A minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 7-10 years in a senior leadership role specifically focused on talent management, organizational development, or a related discipline.
