Key Responsibilities of VP, Enterprise Sales with a Cybersecurity Vendor – Boston, MA

Strategic Sales Leadership

Develop, articulate, and execute a comprehensive enterprise sales strategy for North America that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives and revenue goals. Continuously refine the strategy based on market trends, competitive analysis, and performance metrics.

Team Building and Mentorship

Lead, mentor, and scale a world-class team of Enterprise Account Executives and Sales Directors. Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, continuous learning, and unwavering customer focus. You will be responsible for hiring, onboarding, and ongoing professional development to ensure the team is equipped to navigate complex sales cycles.

Revenue Growth and Quota Attainment

Take full ownership of the North American enterprise sales number. Drive the team to consistently meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas through disciplined pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and effective deal execution.

Pipeline and Forecast Management

Implement and manage a rigorous sales process, including robust pipeline generation, qualification, and progression methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC, Challenger Sale). Maintain a highly accurate and predictable sales forecast, providing regular updates to the executive leadership team.

C-Level Engagement

Personally engage in key enterprise deals, building and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships with C-level executives (CISOs, CIOs, CTOs) at target accounts. Act as an executive sponsor on strategic opportunities to facilitate deal closure.

Go-to-Market Collaboration

Partner closely with cross-functional leaders, including Marketing, Product Management, Customer Success, and Channel Partners, to create a cohesive and effective go-to-market motion. Provide valuable feedback from the field to inform product roadmap and marketing campaign development.

Sales Operations Excellence

Drive operational excellence within the sales organization. Leverage CRM (Salesforce) and other sales technology tools to monitor performance, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement in sales productivity and efficiency.

Market Representation

Serve as a key spokesperson and evangelist for the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings. Enhance the company’s brand and market presence within the enterprise cybersecurity community.

Requirements for the VP, Enterprise Sales with a Cybersecurity Vendor – Boston, MA

Extensive Sales Experience

A minimum of 15+ years of experience in enterprise software sales, with at least 7-10 years in a senior sales leadership role (Director or VP level) within the cybersecurity industry.

Proven Leadership Track Record

Demonstrable success in building, scaling, and managing high-performing enterprise sales teams of 15+ individuals. A history of attracting, developing, and retaining top sales talent.

Quota Achievement

A consistent and verifiable track record of exceeding multi-million dollar team sales quotas in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Cybersecurity Domain Expertise

Deep knowledge of the cybersecurity landscape, including endpoint security (EDR/XDR), threat intelligence, incident response, SIEM, and cloud security. Must be able to confidently articulate a complex technical value proposition to a sophisticated CISO audience.

Complex Sales Acumen

Mastery of complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles. Expertise in sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, MEDDPICC, Challenger Sale, or similar frameworks is highly required.

Executive Presence

Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. The ability to command a room and build instant credibility with C-suite executives and board members.

Strategic and Analytical Mindset

Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive strategic decisions, optimize sales processes, and forecast accurately.

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field is required. An MBA is highly preferred.

Location and Travel

Must be based in the greater Boston, MA area or willing to relocate. This role requires the ability to travel up to 50% to meet with clients, prospects, and team members across North America.
