Key Responsibilities of VP, Data Governance with a Large Insurer – Chicago, IL

Strategic Framework Development

Design, implement, and oversee the enterprise-wide data governance strategy, framework, policies, and standards. Ensure the framework is aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Leadership and Team Management

Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing data governance office (DGO). Foster a collaborative environment and provide guidance to a federated network of data stewards and data owners embedded within business units across the organization.

Policy and Standards Enforcement

Establish and enforce robust policies for data quality, data definition, data lineage, metadata management, and master data management (MDM). Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise business glossary and data dictionary.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management

Technology and Tooling Oversight
