Key Responsibilities of SVP, Global Sales & Account Management with a Cloud Platform – Seattle, WA
The SVP, Global Sales & Account Management will have a broad and impactful remit. Success in this role will be measured by revenue growth, market share expansion, and the development of a scalable, repeatable sales machine. Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Go-to-Market Leadership
Develop, articulate, and execute a comprehensive global sales strategy that aligns with the company’s overall vision and financial objectives. This includes defining target markets, ideal customer profiles, sales territories, and channel strategies to maximize revenue opportunities across all geographic regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC).
Revenue Generation & Execution
Assume full ownership of the global sales quota, ensuring consistent and predictable achievement of ambitious revenue targets. Implement and enforce a rigorous pipeline management and forecasting methodology (e.g., MEDDIC, Challenger Sale) to ensure forecast accuracy and provide transparent reporting to the executive team and board of directors.
Team Building & Leadership
Recruit, mentor, and lead a world-class global sales organization, including VPs of Sales, Regional Directors, Account Executives, and Sales Development Representatives. Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and results-oriented culture that attracts and retains top talent. Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to elevate the team’s capabilities.
Executive & C-Level Engagement
Personally engage in key customer and prospect relationships, participating in and leading strategic deal negotiations for large, complex enterprise accounts. Build a strong network of C-level executive contacts within target accounts and the broader industry to serve as a trusted advisor and champion for our platform.
Sales Process & Operational Excellence
Continuously refine and optimize the sales process, from lead generation to closing and expansion. Collaborate with Sales Operations to implement best-in-class tools, technologies (CRM, sales intelligence), and metrics to drive efficiency, productivity, and data-driven decision-making across the entire sales funnel.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Forge strong partnerships with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Finance to ensure a cohesive and customer-centric go-to-market motion. Provide critical feedback from the field to inform product roadmap, marketing campaigns, and customer success initiatives.
Account Management & Expansion
Oversee the global account management function to ensure high levels of customer retention, satisfaction, and expansion. Develop strategies to drive net revenue retention (NRR) through upselling, cross-selling, and long-term strategic partnerships with our existing customer base.
Market & Competitive Analysis
Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and market dynamics within the cloud infrastructure and platform services market. Use this intelligence to adapt sales strategies, refine value propositions, and maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements for the SVP, Global Sales & Account Management with a Cloud Platform – Seattle, WA
The ideal candidate is a seasoned and accomplished sales executive with a proven history of scaling global sales organizations within high-growth enterprise software, SaaS, or cloud technology companies. You are a strategic thinker, a data-driven operator, and an inspiring leader of people.
Experience
15+ years of experience in enterprise technology sales, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role (VP, SVP) managing large, geographically dispersed sales teams.
Proven Track Record
Demonstrable history of successfully building and leading sales organizations that consistently exceed multi-hundred-million-dollar annual revenue targets in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Domain Expertise
Deep expertise in the SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS landscape is essential. Experience selling complex, platform-level solutions to Fortune 500 enterprises is required.
Leadership Acumen
A natural leader and mentor with a passion for developing talent. Experience managing managers and a proven ability to inspire and motivate a large, diverse team to achieve peak performance.
Strategic & Analytical Skills
Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical abilities. Must be able to leverage data to make informed decisions, identify market trends, and build predictable revenue models.
Operational Rigor
Mastery of modern sales methodologies, pipeline management, and forecasting. Extensive experience with Salesforce.com and other sales technology stack tools.
Executive Presence
Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. The ability to command a room and build credibility with C-level executives, board members, and key industry stakeholders.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required. An MBA is highly preferred.
