The successful candidate will assume full ownership of the Transaction Diligence practice in Atlanta, with responsibilities spanning strategic leadership, client service, team development, and market engagement.
Practice Leadership & Strategic Growth
Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan and go-to-market strategy for the Atlanta Transaction Diligence practice. Take full P&L responsibility, driving revenue growth, managing profitability, and ensuring the practice meets its strategic and financial objectives. Actively lead business development initiatives, cultivate a robust pipeline of opportunities, and build enduring relationships with private equity sponsors, corporate development officers, investment bankers, and legal counsel.
Client Engagement & Technical Excellence
Serve as the lead engagement partner on the most complex, high-stakes financial due diligence engagements. Provide authoritative advice and strategic insights to clients on critical deal issues, including quality of earnings analysis, identification of debt and debt-like items, working capital adjustments, and assessment of key value drivers and risks. Ensure the highest standards of quality and excellence in all client deliverables, including comprehensive due diligence reports and executive presentations, providing final review and sign-off.

Requirements for the Head of Transaction Diligence with a Consulting Firm – Atlanta, GA
We are seeking a highly accomplished and ambitious professional with a proven track record of success in transaction advisory services and a deep desire to build a market-leading practice.
Professional Experience
A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience within a transaction advisory or due diligence practice at a Big 4, national accounting firm, or specialized M&A consultancy. Significant experience at the Partner, Managing Director, or Senior Director level is required. Must possess a proven, verifiable track record of building and leading teams, driving business development, and managing a profitable practice.
Technical Expertise
Extensive, hands-on experience leading both buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence projects for a diverse clientele, including private equity funds and strategic corporate acquirers. Deep technical proficiency in U.S. GAAP, with an expert-level understanding of quality of earnings, net working capital analysis, financial modeling, and the broader M&A transaction processes.
Educational & Professional Credentials
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. A Master’s degree (MBA or Master’s in Accounting) is strongly preferred. An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is mandatory for this role.
Leadership & Business Acumen
Demonstrable experience in developing and executing strategic plans, managing a P&L, and driving revenue growth. Exceptional leadership and people management skills with a natural ability to mentor, motivate, and inspire a team. Outstanding executive presence with superior written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively presenting complex findings to C-suite executives and boards of directors. An entrepreneurial spirit and a robust professional network within the Atlanta and broader Southeast M&A ecosystem are highly desirable.
