Key Responsibilities of EVP, Global Sales with a Cloud Solutions Provider – San Francisco, CA

Global Sales Strategy & Execution

Design, implement, and manage a sophisticated global sales strategy that aligns with the company’s ambitious growth objectives. Define and articulate a clear vision for market penetration, customer acquisition, and revenue expansion across all key geographies including North America, EMEA, and APAC.

Revenue Growth & Predictability

Assume full ownership of the global sales number. Drive predictable, scalable, and repeatable revenue growth by establishing rigorous sales processes, accurate forecasting methodologies, and data-driven pipeline management. Consistently exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas.

Leadership & Team Development

Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performance global sales organization. This includes VPs of Sales for various regions, Enterprise Account Executives, Sales Engineers, and Sales Operations. Foster a culture of winning, continuous learning, and professional development. Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and support.

Market Expansion & Go-to-Market Strategy

Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities and customer segments. Collaborate with the executive team to refine the go-to-market strategy for new products and regions. Build and nurture a robust ecosystem of strategic partners, alliances, and channel relationships to amplify sales efforts.

Sales Process & Operational Excellence

Implement and optimize sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC, Challenger Sale, Value Selling) to improve sales cycle velocity and win rates. Leverage CRM (Salesforce) and other sales technology tools to drive efficiency, provide critical insights, and ensure data integrity across the organization.

C-Suite Engagement & Deal Execution

Personally engage in and provide executive sponsorship for the most strategic and complex sales cycles. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with C-level executives at key enterprise accounts and partner organizations. Act as the ultimate closer and problem-solver for critical deals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Forge a powerful partnership with Marketing to ensure tight alignment on lead generation, brand messaging, and sales enablement. Work closely with the Product team to provide market feedback and influence the product roadmap. Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure seamless customer onboarding and long-term value realization, driving expansion and renewal revenue.

Forecasting, Reporting & Analytics

Provide transparent, accurate, and timely sales forecasts to the CEO and Board of Directors. Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales organization. Utilize data analytics to uncover trends, identify areas for improvement, and make informed strategic decisions.

Executive Sales Leadership Experience

A minimum of 15-20 years of experience in enterprise software sales, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership capacity (e.g., VP, SVP, or EVP of Sales) managing large, geographically dispersed sales teams.

Proven Track Record of Scale

Demonstrable success in scaling a SaaS/Cloud sales organization from $100M to $500M+ in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR). A history of consistently exceeding multi-hundred-million-dollar quotas is essential.

Deep Industry Expertise

An expert-level understanding of the cloud computing landscape, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models. Significant experience selling complex technology solutions to Fortune 500 companies is required.

Strategic and Analytical Mindset

Exceptional strategic thinking and planning abilities. Must be highly analytical, data-driven, and proficient in financial modeling and sales forecasting.

Inspirational Leadership

A natural leader with outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. The ability to inspire, motivate, and unite a diverse team around a common vision and goals. High emotional intelligence and a player-coach mentality.

Operational Rigor

Mastery of modern sales methodologies, processes, and operational best practices. Extensive experience with Salesforce.com and other sales enablement technologies.

Global Experience

Proven experience building and managing successful sales teams and operations across multiple international regions, with a deep understanding of cultural nuances in business.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field is required. An MBA is highly preferred.

Location & Travel
