Director Post Merger Integration PMI With A PE Backed Services Co. Dallas TX

Role Overview for Director, Post-Merger Integration (PMI) with a PE-backed Services Co. – Dallas, TX

JRG Partners is proud to partner with a high-growth, market-leading services company backed by a premier private equity firm. Our client has an aggressive growth strategy centered on strategic acquisitions and is seeking a world-class Director of Post-Merger Integration (PMI) to join their executive team in Dallas, TX. This is a newly created, high-visibility role that is mission-critical to the company’s success and the realization of its investment thesis.

The Director of Post-Merger Integration will serve as the strategic linchpin for all M&A activities following a transaction’s close. You will be the ‘quarterback’ of the integration process, responsible for ensuring that acquired companies are seamlessly and effectively onboarded into the parent organization. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, financial acumen, operational expertise, and exceptional leadership. You will work hand-in-hand with the C-suite, the PE sponsors, and leaders from acquired companies to design and execute integration plans that capture maximum value, mitigate risks, and foster a unified corporate culture.

This is not a standard corporate role. You will be operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and results-driven environment where your contributions directly impact the company’s bottom line and long-term trajectory. The ideal candidate is a seasoned M&A integration professional who thrives on complexity, excels at influencing cross-functional teams, and has a proven track record of success within the private equity ecosystem. If you are a strategic operator looking to make a significant impact and help build a best-in-class M&A integration capability, this is an unparalleled opportunity.

Key Responsibilities of Director, Post-Merger Integration (PMI) with a PE-backed Services Co. – Dallas, TX

The Director of Post-Merger Integration will own the end-to-end integration lifecycle, from late-stage due diligence through full operational assimilation. Your responsibilities will be broad and impactful, including:

Integration Playbook Development

Design, build, and continuously refine the company’s master PMI playbook. This involves creating standardized processes, tools, templates, and best practices for all functional areas to ensure a consistent, scalable, and repeatable integration model. Your work in developing a robust post-merger integration playbook will be foundational to our M&A success.

Strategic Integration Planning

For each acquisition, lead the development of a comprehensive integration strategy and detailed project plan. This includes defining integration objectives, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), creating detailed 100-day plans, and setting timelines and budgets.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Establish and lead a cross-functional Integration Management Office (IMO) for each transaction. You will direct and coordinate the efforts of workstream leaders across all key functions, including Finance, HR, IT, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Product, ensuring alignment and accountability.

Synergy & Value Capture

Partner with the corporate development team and executive leadership to identify, quantify, and validate potential cost and revenue synergies. You will be responsible for developing detailed plans to capture these synergies and establishing rigorous tracking mechanisms to monitor progress against targets.

Risk Management

Proactively identify potential integration risks and challenges, such as cultural clashes, system incompatibilities, or customer disruption. Develop and implement effective mitigation strategies to minimize these risks and ensure a smooth transition.

Change Management & Communication

Champion the change management process associated with integration. Develop and execute a comprehensive communication plan to keep all stakeholders—including employees, customers, partners, and leadership—informed and engaged. Drive initiatives focused on cultural assessment and alignment to foster a cohesive ‘one company’ culture.

Due Diligence Collaboration

Act as the integration subject matter expert during the later stages of the due diligence process. Provide critical input on operational risks, integration complexity, and potential synergy opportunities to help inform deal structuring and valuation.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Create and manage detailed dashboards and reporting frameworks to provide the executive team and private equity sponsors with clear visibility into integration progress. You will be responsible for tracking milestones, budgets, synergy realization, and overall performance against the integration thesis.
