JRG Partners is proud to partner with a rapidly scaling, venture-backed technology startup in the heart of Denver, Colorado, to find their first Chief of Staff. This is a rare and career-defining opportunity to join a company on the cusp of exponential growth and to serve as the right-hand strategic partner to a visionary Chief Executive Officer. As the Chief of Staff, you will be more than an executive assistant or a project manager; you will be a force multiplier for the CEO and the entire executive team, operating at the highest level to drive strategic initiatives, optimize operational cadence, and ensure the organization is aligned and executing flawlessly against its ambitious goals.

This role is the connective tissue of the organization, a position of immense trust and influence. You will have a unique vantage point across all functions of the business—from product and engineering to sales, marketing, and finance. You will be instrumental in shaping the company’s strategy, culture, and trajectory. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, emotionally intelligent, and versatile business athlete who can seamlessly transition from high-level strategic planning to detailed operational execution. You are a systems thinker, a natural problem-solver, and a master of communication. If you are driven by impact, thrive in ambiguous and fast-paced environments, and are passionate about building enduring companies, this is the role for you. You will be at the epicenter of a dynamic tech ecosystem in Denver, contributing directly to the success story of a future market leader.

Key Responsibilities of Chief of Staff with a Venture-Backed Startup – Denver, CO

As the Chief of Staff, your responsibilities will be broad and dynamic, evolving with the needs of the company. You will be entrusted with the following core duties:

Strategic Planning & Execution

You will work in lockstep with the CEO and the leadership team to define, refine, and communicate the company’s strategic priorities. This involves facilitating leadership offsites, conducting in-depth market research and competitive analysis, pressure-testing business models, and translating long-term vision into a concrete operational roadmap. A key part of this will be implementing and managing a framework for objectives and key results (OKRs) to ensure the entire company is aligned and accountable for hitting its targets.

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

You will be the architect of the company’s operating rhythm. This includes managing the cadence of leadership meetings, all-hands gatherings, and quarterly business reviews, ensuring they are effective and outcome-oriented. You will proactively identify operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies across the organization and lead cross-functional projects to design and implement scalable solutions, whether it’s optimizing the sales funnel, streamlining the product development lifecycle, or selecting and implementing new internal software.

Executive Support & Force Multiplication

A core function of your role is to maximize the CEO’s effectiveness and focus. You will act as a trusted sounding board and advisor, preparing the CEO for critical meetings, drafting internal and external communications, and creating compelling presentations for board meetings, investor updates, and keynote speeches. You will manage the flow of information to the executive team, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared to make critical decisions.

Leadership of Special Projects

You will own and execute high-priority, cross-functional initiatives that do not have a natural home within the existing organizational structure. These projects will be critical to the company’s growth and could range from evaluating potential M&A targets and leading due diligence, to developing a new pricing and packaging strategy, to spearheading the company’s first international expansion effort.

Communication & Organizational Alignment

You will serve as a key conduit of information, ensuring seamless communication flows up, down, and across the organization. You will be responsible for creating frameworks and channels that promote transparency and alignment, ensuring that every team member understands the company strategy and how their work contributes to it. You will be a culture carrier, helping to reinforce the company’s values as it scales.

Data Analysis & Insights

You will champion a data-driven culture. This involves working with functional leaders to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), building and maintaining a central company dashboard, and providing the executive team with regular, insightful analysis that informs strategic decision-making and highlights areas of opportunity or risk.
