Strategic HR Leadership

Develop and implement a forward-thinking HR strategy that supports long-term business goals. Serve as a key strategic partner to the executive team, providing insights and guidance on all people-related issues. Translate business strategy into actionable human capital initiatives.

Talent Acquisition & Management

Oversee the entire talent lifecycle, from sourcing and recruitment to onboarding, performance management, and succession planning. Build a world-class talent acquisition function capable of attracting elite talent in a competitive market. Implement robust performance management systems that foster a culture of feedback and continuous improvement.

Compensation & Total Rewards

Design and manage comprehensive compensation and benefits programs that are competitive, equitable, and aligned with company performance. Lead executive compensation strategy in partnership with the CEO and the Compensation Committee of the Board. Administer equity and incentive plans, ensuring compliance with public company regulations.

Culture & Employee Engagement

Act as the primary champion of the company’s culture and values. Develop and execute initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention. Utilize employee feedback, surveys, and data analytics to identify trends and implement programs that foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I)

Lead the development and execution of the company’s DE&I strategy. Partner with leaders across the organization to embed DE&I principles into all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including hiring, promotion, and development. Foster an environment of belonging where all employees can thrive.

Organizational Design & Development

Partner with the executive team on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management to ensure the company is structured for optimal growth and efficiency. Identify skill gaps and create targeted learning and development programs to build leadership and employee capabilities.

HR Operations & Technology

Modernize and optimize HR operations by leveraging technology and data analytics. Oversee the HRIS, payroll, and other HR systems to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and a seamless employee experience. Develop and monitor key HR metrics to inform decision-making.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure the company is in full compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Mitigate risk by developing and enforcing sound HR policies and procedures. Stay current with the latest HR best practices and compliance standards, particularly those pertaining to publicly traded companies (e.g., SOX, SEC disclosures).

Executive Partnership & Coaching

Serve as a trusted coach and advisor to senior leaders, helping them to effectively lead their teams, manage performance, and navigate complex organizational challenges. Provide guidance on employee relations issues with a high degree of empathy and professionalism.

Requirements for the Chief Human Resources Officer with a Public FinTech – New York, NY

Experience

A minimum of 15-20 years of progressive human resources experience, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., VP of HR, Head of People, CHRO) overseeing the entire HR function.

Industry Expertise

Demonstrable experience within the technology, FinTech, or financial services sectors is essential. Must be comfortable and effective in a high-growth, fast-paced, and intellectually demanding environment.

Public Company Acumen

Deep expertise across all HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, employee relations, organizational development, and DE&I. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree (MBA, MS in HR) and/or relevant professional certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) are highly preferred.
