Key Responsibilities of EVP, Head of Digital Channels with a Regional Bank – Charlotte, NC

The EVP, Head of Digital Channels will have a broad and impactful scope of responsibilities, encompassing strategy, product innovation, customer experience, and team leadership.

Digital Strategy & Visionary Leadership

Develop, articulate, and execute a forward-thinking digital channel strategy that supports business growth, enhances customer loyalty, and drives operational efficiency. Own the P&L for the digital channels, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance management to ensure all initiatives deliver a strong ROI.

Product Management & Innovation

Oversee the entire lifecycle of all digital products and services, from ideation and business case development to launch, enhancement, and eventual sunset. Champion an agile, data-driven product development culture. Continuously scan the market for emerging technologies, fintech partnerships, and innovative solutions that can enhance the bank’s digital offerings.

Customer Experience (CX/UX) Excellence

Serve as the ultimate champion for the digital customer. Utilize data analytics, user research, A/B testing, and customer feedback to gain deep insights into user behavior and needs. Lead the design and implementation of a frictionless, personalized, and intuitive user experience across all digital touchpoints.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and IT teams to ensure the digital platforms are secure, scalable, and reliable. Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive digital adoption, engagement, and conversion. Work with retail and commercial banking leaders to ensure a seamless omnichannel experience for all customers.

Performance Analytics & Reporting

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all digital channels, including customer adoption rates, engagement metrics, transaction volumes, application completion rates, and customer satisfaction scores (NPS). Provide regular, insightful reporting to the executive leadership team and the Board of Directors on the performance and strategic direction of the digital channels.

Risk Management & Compliance

Ensure all digital products, services, and processes are in full compliance with banking regulations and industry best practices. Work proactively with Compliance, Legal, and Risk departments to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with digital banking, including fraud, cybersecurity, and data privacy.

Team Development & Mentorship

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of digital professionals, including product managers, UX/UI designers, and digital strategists. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability within the digital channels group.

Requirements for the EVP, Head of Digital Channels with a Regional Bank – Charlotte, NC

We are seeking a seasoned and accomplished executive with a proven track record of success in leading digital transformation within the financial services industry.

Experience

A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in financial services, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role focused specifically on digital strategy, digital product management, or digital channels within a bank or credit union.

Strategic Acumen

Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a successful, large-scale digital strategy that produced measurable business results, such as increased customer acquisition, improved engagement, and revenue growth. Full P&L management experience is required.

Technical & Product Expertise

Deep understanding of the modern digital banking technology stack, including core banking integrations, API strategies, mobile application development (iOS and Android), and web technologies. Extensive experience with agile product development methodologies is essential.

Customer-Centric Mindset

A genuine passion for understanding and serving the customer. Proven experience using design thinking, user research, and data analytics to build exceptional digital customer experiences. You should be fluent in the language of CX, UX, and UI.

Leadership & Influence

Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, from the front line to the C-suite and the Board.

Analytical Skills

Strong quantitative and analytical skills. You must be comfortable diving deep into data to uncover insights, measure performance, and make informed, strategic decisions. Expertise with analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) and business intelligence tools is highly desirable.

Communication Skills

Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills. The ability to articulate a complex vision and strategy in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to a wide variety of audiences.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field is required. An MBA or other advanced degree is strongly preferred.
