Key Responsibilities of VP, Supply Chain Strategy with a CPG Company – Cincinnati, OH
The VP, Supply Chain Strategy will have a broad and impactful mandate, encompassing the following key responsibilities:
Strategic Roadmap Development
Design, develop, and champion a comprehensive 5-10 year supply chain strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business goals, focusing on agility, resilience, sustainability, and customer centricity.
Network Design & Optimization
Conduct rigorous analysis of the existing supply chain network, including manufacturing footprints, distribution centers, and transportation lanes. Develop and execute network optimization projects to improve service levels, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.
Technology & Digital Transformation
Lead the evaluation and implementation of next-generation supply chain technologies, such as AI/ML for demand forecasting, IoT for asset tracking, robotic process automation (RPA) in warehouses, and advanced analytics platforms for end-to-end visibility.
S&OP Leadership
Evolve and mature the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring tight integration between commercial forecasts, production capacity, and inventory strategies to improve forecast accuracy and product availability.
Cost-to-Serve Analysis
Implement sophisticated cost-to-serve models to provide deep insights into profitability by customer, channel, and SKU. Use this data to drive strategic decisions regarding network flow, inventory placement, and commercial policy.

Requirements for the VP, Supply Chain Strategy with a CPG Company – Cincinnati, OH
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned executive with a deep understanding of CPG supply chains and a demonstrated ability to lead strategic transformation.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role focused on strategy, network design, or transformation.
- Significant experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Food & Beverage, or a related fast-paced consumer-facing industry is essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Proven track record of developing and successfully implementing large-scale, multi-year supply chain strategies that have delivered measurable improvements in cost, service, and agility.
- Deep expertise in network modeling, S&OP processes, inventory management, and logistics.
