As the VP of Human Resources, you will be a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. You will be the chief architect of the company’s people strategy, responsible for all aspects of the human resources function. Key Responsibilities of VP, Human Resources, Talent Management with a Tech Firm – Seattle, WA
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
Collaborate with the executive team to define and execute a comprehensive people strategy that aligns with and drives business objectives. Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to senior leaders on all human capital matters, providing insights and solutions for organizational challenges. Utilize HR metrics and analytics to inform business decisions and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding
Develop and lead a sophisticated, data-driven talent acquisition strategy to attract and hire top-tier talent in a competitive market. Oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing and interviewing to offer and onboarding. Enhance the company’s employer brand to position it as a premier destination for technology professionals.
Talent Management & Leadership Development
Design and implement a holistic talent management framework that includes performance management, succession planning, career pathing, and leadership development. Create robust learning and development programs that foster a culture of continuous improvement and equip employees and managers with the skills needed for future growth. Drive initiatives to increase employee engagement and retention.
Organizational Design & Culture
Act as the primary champion for the company’s culture, ensuring its values are embedded in all people processes. Lead organizational design efforts to ensure the company structure is agile, scalable, and effective. Proactively manage organizational change, providing guidance and support to leaders and employees during periods of transformation. Implement best practices in organizational development to enhance team effectiveness and collaboration.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
Develop and execute a comprehensive DEI strategy that fosters a sense of belonging for all employees. Partner with leaders across the organization to embed DEI principles into all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, promotion, and development. Track and report on DEI metrics to ensure progress and accountability.
Compensation, Benefits & Total Rewards
Oversee the design and administration of a competitive and equitable total rewards program, including compensation, equity, benefits, and perks. Conduct regular market analysis to ensure the company remains competitive in attracting and retaining talent. Ensure all programs are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
HR Operations & Technology
Modernize and scale HR operations by leveraging technology and implementing efficient processes. Oversee the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and leveraging its capabilities for reporting and analytics. Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations, mitigating risk for the organization.
Employee Relations & Engagement
Foster a positive and productive work environment by proactively addressing employee relations issues. Serve as a resource and advocate for employees, providing guidance and support. Develop and implement strategies to measure and improve employee engagement and satisfaction, using surveys and other feedback mechanisms to drive action.
Requirements for the VP, Human Resources, Talent Management with a Tech Firm – Seattle, WA
Experience
A minimum of 15 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role (Director, Sr. Director, or VP level). Significant experience within a high-growth, fast-paced technology or software company is strongly required.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree (MBA or MS in Human Resources) is highly preferred.
Certifications
Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR are highly desirable.
Strategic Acumen
Proven ability to function as a strategic business partner and member of a senior leadership team. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing people strategies that drive business results.

Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building, mentoring, and motivating high-performing HR teams.

Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills. Ability to build strong relationships and credibility with employees at all levels, from individual contributors to the C-suite and Board of Directors.
Change Management
Proven experience leading organizations through significant change, such as rapid growth, M&A integration, or cultural transformation.
Location
Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Seattle, WA metropolitan area. This is a hybrid role with significant in-office presence required.
