Strategic Vision & Technology Roadmap
Develop, articulate, and execute a comprehensive, multi-year technology strategy and roadmap for the global procurement function. This roadmap must align with the CPO’s vision and the company’s overarching business objectives. You will continuously evaluate the technology landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive differentiation, presenting robust business cases for new investments to the executive leadership team.
Digital Transformation & Innovation
Champion and lead the end-to-end digital transformation of the procurement organization. This includes spearheading the selection, implementation, and adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for predictive spend analytics and risk modeling, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for streamlining procure-to-pay (P2P) workflows, and advanced e-sourcing and auctioning platforms. You will foster a culture of innovation, encouraging your team to experiment with new tools and methodologies to solve complex business challenges.
Procurement Systems & Platform Oversight
Assume ultimate ownership of the entire procurement technology stack. This includes core ERP modules (e.g., SAP S/4HANA), best-of-breed P2P platforms (e.g., Coupa, Ariba), Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) portals, and various analytics tools. Your responsibilities will cover system architecture, integration, security, performance, and lifecycle management, ensuring a stable, scalable, and user-friendly environment for thousands of global users.
Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
Establish a world-class data analytics and business intelligence capability within the procurement function. You will define and enforce a robust data governance framework to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility. You will lead your team in developing sophisticated dashboards, predictive models, and executive-level reports that provide actionable insights into global spend, supplier performance, commodity trends, and supply chain risks. This intelligence will be critical for strategic decision-making across the enterprise.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global team of procurement technology specialists, business systems analysts, project managers, and data scientists. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

This includes adherence to standards such as AS9100, ITAR, and other government contracting requirements. You will leverage technology to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks, from supplier financial health to geopolitical instability.

Educational & Professional Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- An advanced degree, such as an MBA or a Master of Science in a relevant discipline, is highly preferred.
Experience
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive professional experience, with a clear trajectory of increasing responsibility within procurement, supply chain, or IT functions.
- A minimum of 7-10 years in a senior leadership capacity, with direct responsibility for managing procurement technology strategy, teams, and large-scale system implementations.
Direct experience within the Aerospace & Defense, complex industrial manufacturing, automotive, or a similarly highly regulated, technology-intensive industry is mandatory.
- Demonstrable experience leading at least one full-cycle, large-scale implementation of a major ERP (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) or best-of-breed procurement suite (e.g., Coupa, Ariba) across a global enterprise.
- Proven success in managing multi-million dollar technology budgets and negotiating complex contracts with software vendors and implementation partners.
Technical Expertise
- Deep, expert-level knowledge of the modern procurement technology ecosystem, including leading platforms for P2P, Sourcing, CLM, SRM, and Spend Analytics.
- Strong functional and technical understanding of Tier 1 ERP systems, with a particular emphasis on SAP S/4HANA procurement and supply chain modules.
- Proficiency with modern business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- A solid grasp of emerging technologies and their practical applications in procurement, including AI/ML, RPA, blockchain, and IoT.
