Based in their dynamic Seattle, WA headquarters, this executive will serve as a critical member of the senior finance leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a highly visible and strategic role responsible for shaping and executing the company’s global treasury, capital markets, and risk management strategies to support its continued growth and innovation.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned and strategic leader with a proven track record of managing complex financial operations within a large-scale, multinational public company. You will be entrusted with safeguarding the company’s financial assets, optimizing its capital structure, and building a robust risk management framework that aligns with the company’s strategic objectives. This role requires a leader who can operate at both a strategic and tactical level, providing insightful guidance to the executive team and the Board of Directors while also leading a high-performing global team. You will be the central figure in managing the company’s liquidity, navigating global financial markets, and mitigating financial risks in an ever-evolving economic landscape. Key Responsibilities of SVP, Corporate Treasury & Risk with a Public Technology Firm – Seattle, WA

The SVP, Corporate Treasury & Risk will have a broad and impactful scope of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Global Treasury & Liquidity Management

  • Oversee and optimize global cash management operations, including cash positioning, forecasting, and liquidity planning to ensure sufficient funds are available for operational needs and strategic investments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with a global network of banking partners, negotiating credit facilities, and managing service levels and fees.
  • Lead the strategy for short-term and long-term investment of corporate cash reserves, balancing objectives of capital preservation, liquidity, and yield.
  • Implement and enhance Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and other financial technologies to improve efficiency, visibility, and control over global cash operations.

Capital Markets & Corporate Finance

  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s capital structure strategy, including the evaluation and implementation of debt and equity financing transactions.
  • Manage all aspects of capital markets activities, including bond offerings, credit facility syndication, and other financing arrangements.
  • Oversee the company’s share repurchase program, developing strategy and executing trades in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide critical financial analysis and support for corporate development activities, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, from due diligence through integration.
  • Manage relationships with credit rating agencies to ensure the company’s financial strength and strategy are accurately represented.

Financial Risk Management

  • Design and implement a comprehensive financial risk management framework, including policies and strategies for mitigating foreign exchange (FX), interest rate, commodity, and counterparty risks.
  • Oversee the development and execution of hedging programs to minimize the impact of market volatility on the company’s financial results.
  • Lead the global corporate insurance and risk management program, ensuring appropriate coverage is in place to protect the company’s assets and operations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate enterprise-wide risks, contributing to the overall Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a world-class global treasury and risk management team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CFO, CEO, and other senior executives on all treasury and risk-related matters.
  • Prepare and present clear and concise materials for the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and other key stakeholders regarding treasury strategies, risk exposures, and capital allocation.
  • Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with all relevant regulations, including SEC reporting requirements and SOX compliance for treasury-related processes.

Requirements for the SVP, Corporate Treasury & Risk with a Public Technology Firm – Seattle, WA

We are seeking a candidate who meets the following qualifications:

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is required. An MBA or other advanced degree is strongly preferred. Professional certifications such as the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) are highly desirable.

Experience

A minimum of 15-20 years of progressive experience in corporate treasury, finance, and risk management, with at least 7-10 years in a significant leadership capacity.

Industry Background

Extensive experience within a large, multinational, publicly-traded company is essential. Experience in the technology, software, or a related high-growth industry is strongly preferred.

Capital Markets Expertise

Demonstrable, hands-on experience leading significant capital markets transactions, including debt issuance (investment grade), credit facility negotiation, and equity-related transactions.

Risk Management Acumen

Deep understanding and practical application of financial risk management principles, including the design and execution of FX and interest rate hedging strategies.

Strategic Mindset

Proven ability to think strategically, anticipate future financial trends and challenges, and develop proactive solutions that align with business objectives.

Leadership Skills

Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with a track record of attracting, developing, and retaining top talent on a global scale.

Communication & Influence

Outstanding executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and persuasively to a wide range of audiences, including the Board of Directors.

Technical Proficiency

High proficiency with Treasury Management Systems (TMS), financial modeling, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
