Key Responsibilities of Operating Partner (Manufacturing Focus)

Operational Strategy & Execution

Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive operational strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Lean Manufacturing & Process Optimization

Champion the adoption and rigorous application of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other advanced process improvement techniques. Identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and streamline workflows to maximize productivity and throughput.

Supply Chain & Logistics Management

Lead the end-to-end supply chain function, from raw material procurement to finished goods distribution. Optimize inventory levels, negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, and ensure robust logistics to support production and delivery schedules.

P&L Ownership & Financial Performance

Hold ultimate accountability for the operational P&L, including managing budgets, forecasting, and driving initiatives to enhance profitability. Analyze financial data to identify areas for cost reduction and revenue growth within manufacturing operations.

Team Leadership & Development

Requirements for the Operating Partner (Manufacturing Focus)

Executive Experience

Minimum of 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5-7 years in a senior executive role (VP of Operations, COO, or similar) within a niche or specialized manufacturing environment.

P&L Responsibility

Demonstrated track record of full P&L ownership and accountability for significant operational budgets, with a proven ability to drive profitability and cost savings.

Manufacturing Expertise

Deep, hands-on experience with various manufacturing processes, production planning, quality systems (e.g., ISO, AS9100), and supply chain management. Experience in high-mix, low-volume, or highly engineered product environments is a significant plus.

Lean & Continuous Improvement

Expert-level proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TOC (Theory of Constraints), or other continuous improvement methodologies. Certification (e.g., Black Belt) is highly desirable.

Strategic Acumen

Proven ability to develop and execute complex operational strategies that drive business growth and competitive advantage. Experience with M&A integration is a strong asset.

Education
