The Director of Logistics Network Planning will have a broad and impactful scope of responsibilities, focusing on the strategic design and tactical execution of the company’s logistics network. Strategic Network Design & Long-Range Planning
Develop and maintain a 3-5 year strategic roadmap for the logistics network. Conduct comprehensive network studies to identify optimal locations for distribution centers, cross-docks, and consolidation points. Model various scenarios to assess the impact of business changes, such as new product launches, market expansions, or shifts in manufacturing footprint.
Advanced Data Analysis & Modeling
Utilize sophisticated network modeling software (e.g., Coupa/LLamasoft, Blue Yonder) and statistical analysis to perform in-depth assessments of the current network. Develop complex models to analyze trade-offs between transportation costs, inventory holding costs, and service levels. Champion the use of data to drive all network-related decisions.
Cost Optimization & Efficiency Initiatives
Lead initiatives to identify and execute significant cost-saving opportunities across the logistics network. We are seeking a highly qualified individual with a deep expertise in logistics and supply chain management. The following qualifications are essential for success in this role:
Experience
A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 7 years in a leadership role specifically focused on logistics network design, modeling, and strategic planning.
Industry Background
Direct experience in the food & beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or large-scale retail distribution industries is strongly preferred. Experience with temperature-controlled (cold chain) logistics is a significant asset.
Education
