Reporting directly to the VP of Information Technology, the Senior Director of IT will lead enterprise IT across infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and digital transformation, aligning technology with business priorities.

Construction is an execution-driven, relationship-based, and risk-laden industry. The ideal candidate combines broad technology leadership with the ability to deliver pragmatic, high-impact results.

Key Responsibilities of Senior Director of IT, Construction

The role will own enterprise technology, with responsibilities including but not limited to:

IT Strategy

Define and execute an enterprise IT strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives.

Enterprise Systems

Lead ERP and core business applications, including implementation and optimization.

Infrastructure & Cloud

Oversee infrastructure, networks, and cloud to deliver reliable, scalable services.

Cybersecurity & Risk

Own cybersecurity strategy, controls, and incident response to protect the enterprise.

Digital Transformation

Drive digital initiatives, analytics, and automation that improve productivity.

Data & Analytics

Advance data management and analytics capabilities that turn information into insight.

Applications & Support

Ensure high-quality application delivery and IT support across the enterprise.

Vendor Management

Manage technology vendors, contracts, and partnerships for value and performance.

IT Governance & Budget

Establish IT governance, standards, and budget discipline with strong ROI.

Security & Compliance

Ensure systems meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements.

Business Partnership

Serve as a technology partner to business leaders, translating needs into solutions.

Team Leadership

Build, mentor, and lead a capable, service-oriented IT organization.

Requirements for the Senior Director of IT, Construction

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; an MBA is a plus.

Experience

Progressive IT experience, including senior IT leadership within a comparable industry.

Enterprise IT Expertise

Broad expertise across ERP, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and applications.

Cybersecurity Knowledge

Strong command of cybersecurity strategy, controls, and risk management.

Digital & Data

Experience leading digital transformation, data, and analytics initiatives.

Leadership

Demonstrated ability to build and lead IT teams and manage vendors effectively.
