The President of Construction will have a broad and impactful scope of responsibilities, encompassing strategic leadership, financial oversight, operational excellence, and team development.
Strategic & Executive Leadership
- Develop, articulate, and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the Construction Division that aligns with the developer’s overall corporate objectives and growth targets.
- Establish annual and long-term goals for revenue, profitability, and market expansion.
- Provide visionary leadership to the entire division, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, continuous improvement, and unwavering ethical standards.
- Serve as the primary representative of the construction division at the executive table, providing critical insights and reporting on performance, risk, and opportunities.
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends, including new construction technologies (ConTech), sustainable building practices, and modern project delivery methods, and champion their adoption within the organization.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the development team, investors, joint venture partners, and municipal authorities.
Financial & Operational Management
- Assume full P&L responsibility for the division, including the development of annual budgets, monthly forecasting, and comprehensive financial analysis and reporting.
- Drive financial performance by meticulously managing project costs, optimizing resource allocation, and identifying opportunities for efficiency gains.
- Establish and enforce best-in-class operational policies, procedures, and quality control programs to ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
- Lead the division’s risk management program, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks related to contracts, safety, schedule, and budget.
- Champion a world-class safety culture, ensuring strict compliance with all OSHA and local safety regulations, with the goal of achieving zero incidents across all jobsites.
- Oversee all pre-construction activities, including design review, constructability analysis, value engineering, estimating, bidding, and subcontractor procurement.
- Provide executive oversight on all contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and protecting the company’s interests.
Team Development & Mentorship
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-caliber team of construction professionals, including Vice Presidents, Directors, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
- Implement robust performance management systems, providing regular feedback, coaching, and career development opportunities for team members.

Requirements for the President, Construction Division with a National Developer – Denver, CO
We are seeking a seasoned and sophisticated executive with a demonstrated history of leadership success within a large-scale construction or development organization.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is required. An MBA or other advanced degree is highly preferred.
Experience
A minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, with at least 10 years in a senior executive role (e.g., Vice President, Division President, COO) with P&L responsibility for a division generating over $200 million in annual revenue.
Industry Background
Experience with a large-scale general contractor or a vertically integrated developer-builder is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully delivering large, complex, ground-up projects, including high-rise residential, large-scale mixed-use communities, and commercial office buildings.
Market Knowledge
While not mandatory, significant experience and established relationships within the Denver and greater Mountain West construction market is a strong asset.
Leadership Acumen
