The Vice President of Data Management & Warehousing will have a broad and impactful scope of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Enterprise Data Strategy & Vision
Develop, articulate, and execute a comprehensive enterprise-wide data management and warehousing strategy that aligns with the bank’s overall business objectives. Champion the vision for a modern data architecture, securing buy-in from C-level executives and key business stakeholders.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and grow a multi-disciplinary team of data professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture. Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and performance management for the data management and warehousing function.
Data Architecture & Modernization
Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of the bank’s enterprise data warehouse (EDW), data lakes, and data marts. Lead the migration of on-premise data solutions to cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Snowflake, ensuring scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Data Governance & Quality
Establish and enforce a robust data governance framework. Define and implement policies, standards, and procedures for data quality, data lineage, metadata management, and data security. Partner with the Chief Data Officer (CDO) and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulations like BCBS 239, CCPA, and GDPR.
Technology & Innovation
Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, trends, and methodologies in the data space. Drive the adoption of best practices and innovative solutions, such as exploring the potential of a Data Fabric architecture to democratize data access in a controlled and secure manner.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as the primary liaison between the data team and various business units, including finance, risk, marketing, and operations. Work closely with business leaders to understand their data requirements and deliver solutions that provide actionable insights.
Operational Excellence
Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of all data platforms and services. Oversee the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines, data models, and reporting infrastructure. Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively address issues.
