In this critical role, you will be responsible for the entire talent acquisition lifecycle, from employer branding and sourcing to executive recruitment and onboarding. You will lead a large, geographically dispersed team of talent acquisition professionals, inspiring them to deliver exceptional results and a best-in-class candidate experience. The ideal candidate is a data-driven, forward-thinking leader with a proven track record of building and scaling global talent functions within complex, matrixed organizations. You must possess a deep understanding of modern recruitment technologies, advanced sourcing methodologies, and the nuances of attracting top-tier talent across diverse international markets. This position requires a strategic visionary who can not only manage the day-to-day operations of a global recruiting engine but also anticipate future talent needs and proactively build the pipelines necessary to meet them. The SVP, Global Talent Acquisition & Strategy will have a broad and impactful scope of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Global Strategy Development & Execution
Design, implement, and continuously refine a comprehensive global talent acquisition strategy that aligns with the company’s long-term business objectives, workforce planning forecasts, and growth initiatives. Develop and deploy innovative sourcing strategies to attract high-caliber talent across all functions, including engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, and sales, in North America, EMEA, and APAC regions.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global team of recruiters, sourcers, and coordinators. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Establish clear performance metrics (KPIs) and provide regular coaching and feedback to ensure the team meets and exceeds its goals. Champion professional development and create career pathing opportunities for team members.
Process Optimization & Technology Innovation
Drive operational excellence across the entire recruitment lifecycle. Evaluate and optimize all talent acquisition processes, tools, and technologies, including the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, and AI-powered sourcing tools. Leverage data analytics and reporting to provide insights into recruiting effectiveness, identify bottlenecks, and make data-driven decisions to improve outcomes such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and quality-of-hire.
Employer Branding & Candidate Experience
Partner closely with the Marketing and Communications teams to develop and promote a compelling global Employer Value Proposition (EVP). Enhance the company’s employer brand across all digital platforms, including the company careers site, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and other relevant channels. Ensure a seamless, positive, and engaging candidate experience at every touchpoint, from initial contact to onboarding.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
Act as a key champion for DEI within the talent acquisition process. Develop and implement strategies to attract and hire a diverse workforce that reflects the global communities in which the company operates. Partner with DEI leaders and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to build inclusive hiring practices, mitigate unconscious bias, and ensure equitable access to opportunities.
Executive Recruitment
Personally lead and manage the full lifecycle recruitment process for critical, senior-level executive searches (VP and above). Build strong relationships with C-suite executives and the Board of Directors, acting as a trusted advisor on executive talent strategy and succession planning.
Stakeholder Partnership & Consultation
Serve as the primary talent acquisition advisor to senior business leaders. Build strong, collaborative relationships across the organization to understand their unique talent needs and challenges. Provide expert consultation on market trends, compensation benchmarks, and effective recruitment strategies to ensure they can attract the best talent for their teams.
Financial & Vendor Management
Develop and manage the annual global talent acquisition budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Oversee relationships with external partners, including recruitment agencies, RPOs, technology vendors, and other service providers. Negotiate contracts and hold vendors accountable for performance and service level agreements.
Requirements for the SVP, Global Talent Acquisition & Strategy with a Public Manufacturer – San Antonio, TX
The successful candidate will be a seasoned and strategic leader with a demonstrated history of success in a similar capacity. The following qualifications are required:
Experience
A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in talent acquisition and human resources, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., VP, Head of TA) overseeing a global talent acquisition function. Direct experience within a large-scale, publicly-traded manufacturing, industrial, or related B2B industry is strongly preferred. Proven experience managing teams across multiple countries and continents is essential.
Strategic Acumen
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into actionable talent acquisition plans. Experience with sophisticated workforce planning, talent mapping, and competitive intelligence gathering. A deep understanding of the principles of global talent management is critical for success.

In-depth knowledge of modern recruitment technologies, including major Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g., Workday Recruiting, Taleo, SuccessFactors), CRM platforms, and emerging AI/ML tools for sourcing and screening.
Communication & Influence
Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. The ability to build credibility and influence senior executives, business partners, and candidates at all levels. Must be a compelling storyteller who can articulate the company’s vision and value proposition.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree (MBA or MS in HR) is highly desirable.
