Key Responsibilities of VP, Marketing Operations & Automation with a Public FinTech – Charlotte, NC
Strategic Leadership & Team Management
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing operations roadmap that aligns with the company’s strategic goals. Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional growth. Manage the marketing operations budget, resource allocation, and vendor relationships to maximize ROI.
MarTech Stack Architecture & Management
Take full ownership of the marketing technology stack, including marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo, Pardot), CRM (Salesforce), analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau), content management systems, and more. Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and integration of new marketing technologies to enhance capabilities and drive efficiency.
Process Optimization & Scalability
Design, document, and enforce scalable marketing processes and workflows. Streamline campaign execution from planning and setup to launch and analysis. Establish and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) with the sales team to ensure seamless lead handoffs and follow-up.
Data Governance & Management
Champion data integrity and governance across all marketing systems. Develop and implement policies for data cleanliness, enrichment, and privacy compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Work closely with IT and data teams to ensure a single source of truth for all marketing and customer data.
Lead Lifecycle & Demand Funnel Management
Architect and optimize the entire lead-to-revenue lifecycle. Collaborate with sales operations to define and manage lead routing, lead scoring, and nurturing programs. Ensure the funnel is optimized for velocity and conversion at every stage. This includes implementing and refining sophisticated, best-in-class lead scoring models to ensure sales receives the highest quality leads at the right time.
Analytics, Reporting & Insights
Establish a robust framework for measuring and reporting on marketing performance. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) including campaign effectiveness, pipeline contribution, customer acquisition cost (CAC), and marketing ROI. Translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for the executive team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as a key strategic partner to Sales, Sales Operations, Product Marketing, and Finance. Align on goals, definitions, and processes to ensure a cohesive go-to-market strategy and a seamless customer experience.
Requirements for the VP, Marketing Operations & Automation with a Public FinTech – Charlotte, NC
Experience
A minimum of 12+ years of experience in marketing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity managing a team.
Industry Background
Significant experience within the B2B SaaS, Technology, or FinTech sectors is strongly required. Experience working for a publicly-traded company is highly preferred.
Technical Proficiency
Expert-level, hands-on experience with a major marketing automation platform (Marketo Certified Expert is a significant plus). Deep proficiency with Salesforce (SFDC) and its integration with marketing automation systems. Proven experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI), CDPs, and ABM platforms.
Analytical Mindset
A deeply analytical and data-driven leader with a proven track record of using data to drive strategy, execution, and optimization. You are comfortable with complex data sets and skilled in forecasting, reporting, and analysis.

Education
