Reporting directly to the VP of Quality, the Director of Quality Control will lead the quality management system, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement, championing a culture of quality.

Key Responsibilities of Director of Quality Control, Medical Device
The role will own the quality and regulatory agenda, with responsibilities including but not limited to:
Quality Strategy
Define and execute a quality strategy aligned with business objectives, with clear metrics.
Quality Management System
Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the quality management system.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, customer, and industry requirements.
Continuous Improvement
Champion continuous improvement, deploying Lean Six Sigma to reduce variation and defects.
Supplier Quality
Own supplier quality, including qualification, monitoring, and development.
CAPA & Investigations
Lead root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Audits & Certifications
Ensure audit readiness and maintain all necessary certifications and approvals.
Product Safety
Uphold product safety and reliability across the portfolio.
Quality Metrics
Deploy metrics and statistical process control to monitor and drive quality.
New Product Quality
Integrate quality into new-product introduction and launches.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner with operations, engineering, and commercial teams to drive quality.
Team Leadership
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing quality organization.
Requirements for the Director of Quality Control, Medical Device
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a scientific field, or a related discipline is required; an advanced degree is a plus.
Experience
Progressive quality or regulatory experience, including leadership within a comparable industry.
Quality Expertise
Deep expertise in quality management systems, standards, and regulatory compliance.
Continuous Improvement
Lean Six Sigma certification is strongly preferred, with a track record of measurable improvement.
Technical Tools
Command of quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
Leadership
Exceptional ability to lead quality organizations and drive cultural change.
Communication
Outstanding communication skills and the credibility to engage customers and regulators.
Analytical Skills
Strong analytical skills and command of quality data.
Strategic Mindset
