JRG Partners is proud to partner with a leading Logistics & Distribution company in its search for a strategic and resilient Director of Materials Management. Based in Jacksonville, FL, this leadership role owns the end-to-end supply chain.
Reporting directly to the VP of Supply Chain, the Director of Materials Management will lead planning, sourcing, logistics, and fulfillment across the network, driving service, cost, and resilience.
Logistics and distribution is a service-sensitive, network-driven, and increasingly complex industry. The ideal candidate combines deep supply-chain expertise with the leadership to optimize a complex, dynamic operation.

Key Responsibilities of Director of Materials Management, Logistics & Distribution
The role will own the supply chain, with responsibilities including but not limited to:
Supply Chain Strategy
Develop and execute a supply-chain strategy that optimizes service, cost, and resilience.
Planning & S&OP
Lead demand and supply planning and sales and operations planning (S&OP).
Sourcing & Procurement
Manage sourcing, suppliers, and procurement for cost, quality, and reliability.
Logistics & Distribution
Own logistics, warehousing, and distribution to meet service levels efficiently.
Inventory Management
Optimize inventory across the network to balance availability, cost, and risk.
Supply Risk & Resilience
Build supply-risk management and resilience, including dual sourcing and continuity planning.
Cost & Service Performance
Own supply-chain cost and service performance, delivering measurable improvement.
Supplier Relationships
Build strong, performance-focused supplier and partner relationships.
Supply Chain Technology
Modernize supply-chain systems and analytics for visibility and better decisions.
Sustainability & Compliance
Advance responsible sourcing, compliance, and sustainability.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner with commercial, operations, and finance to align supply with demand.
Team Leadership
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing supply-chain organization.
Requirements for the Director of Materials Management, Logistics & Distribution
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field is required; an MBA or APICS/ASCM certification is a plus.
Experience
Progressive supply-chain experience, including leadership within a comparable industry.
Supply Chain Expertise
Deep expertise across planning, sourcing, logistics, and inventory.
Cost & Service Record
A proven track record improving supply-chain cost, service, and resilience.
Technology & Analytics
Strong command of supply-chain technology and analytics.
Leadership
Exceptional ability to build and lead supply-chain teams.

Strong analytical skills and fluency in supply-chain metrics and financials.
