Key Responsibilities of President, Services Division with a PE-backed Industrial – Houston, TX

The President of the Services Division will be accountable for the overall performance, strategic direction, and profitable growth of the business unit. Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

Develop and articulate a clear and compelling vision for the Services Division. Translate this vision into a long-range strategic plan and actionable annual operating plans that align with the company’s overall objectives and the PE sponsor’s investment thesis. Continuously assess market trends, competitive landscapes, and technological advancements to ensure the division maintains a competitive edge.

Full P&L Management

Assume complete ownership of the division’s financial performance. This includes developing and managing annual budgets, providing accurate forecasting, and implementing robust financial controls. Drive top-line revenue growth while relentlessly focusing on margin enhancement, cost optimization, and operational efficiency to maximize EBITDA.

Operational Excellence

Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across all service delivery functions. Implement and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor safety, quality, and productivity. Drive best practices in field service management, logistics, and customer support. Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and safety standards, fostering a zero-incident safety culture.

Commercial & Business Development

Lead the division’s commercial strategy to drive organic growth. Oversee the sales, marketing, and business development teams to expand market share, penetrate new verticals, and strengthen key customer relationships. Develop and implement sophisticated pricing strategies that maximize profitability while delivering exceptional value to clients. Personally engage with key customers and stakeholders to secure long-term partnerships.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing senior leadership team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high engagement throughout the division. Implement robust talent management processes, including performance management, succession planning, and leadership development programs to build a strong talent pipeline for future growth.

M&A Strategy and Integration

In collaboration with the CEO and PE sponsors, identify, evaluate, and execute strategic add-on acquisitions that align with the division’s growth strategy. Lead due diligence efforts and play a pivotal role in the successful post-merger integration of acquired businesses to realize synergies and drive value.

Stakeholder Management & Reporting

Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. Prepare and present regular, detailed reports on divisional performance, strategic initiatives, and market conditions to the CEO, Board of Directors, and private equity partners. Build and maintain strong, transparent relationships with all key stakeholders, leveraging best practices in private equity value creation.

Requirements for the President, Services Division with a PE-backed Industrial – Houston, TX

We are seeking a world-class executive with a demonstrated history of leadership and value creation in a relevant industrial services environment. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Experience

A minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience within an industrial or B2B services organization. At least 7 years of experience in a senior leadership role (e.g., General Manager, Vice President, Division President) with full P&L responsibility for a business of significant scale and complexity.

Private Equity Acumen

Direct and demonstrable experience working within a private equity-backed company is highly preferred. The candidate must understand the pace, metrics, and governance typical of a PE environment and have a proven ability to work effectively with financial sponsors to drive an investment thesis.

Financial & Commercial Expertise

Deep understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting. A data-driven decision-maker with strong analytical skills. Proven track record of developing and executing successful commercial strategies that resulted in significant, profitable revenue growth.

Operational Leadership

Strong background in managing field service operations, with a deep commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). Experience in optimizing service delivery, managing a distributed workforce, and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.

Educational Background

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is required. An MBA or other advanced degree is strongly preferred.
