Key Responsibilities of SVP, Commercial Lending with a Regional Bank – St. Louis, MO
The SVP of Commercial Lending will have a broad range of responsibilities, encompassing strategic leadership, team management, business development, and rigorous risk oversight. Your primary goal will be to drive profitable and sustainable growth of the commercial loan portfolio while upholding the bank’s stringent credit quality standards.
Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Management
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the commercial lending division that aligns with the bank’s overall objectives. Oversee the management of a diverse and complex loan portfolio, including Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loans, asset-based lending, and owner-occupied real estate financing. Monitor portfolio performance, analyze key metrics, and make data-driven decisions to optimize profitability and manage risk.
Business Development & Market Expansion
Actively source and originate new, high-quality commercial loan relationships within the St. Louis metropolitan area. Leverage your existing network and develop new centers of influence, including CPAs, attorneys, and other professionals, to generate a consistent deal flow. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of commercial relationship managers, portfolio managers, and credit analysts. Credit Analysis & Risk Management
