Key Responsibilities of Director, Post-Merger Integration (PMI) with a Consulting Firm – Los Angeles, CA
The Director will own the full lifecycle of client engagement, from business development and solution design to program execution and value delivery. Key responsibilities are extensive and include:
Strategic Integration Leadership
Act as the lead strategic advisor to client executives on all facets of post-merger integration. Develop and articulate a clear integration vision, strategy, and detailed roadmap that aligns with the deal’s value drivers. Lead the design of the future state operating model, considering organizational structure, key business processes, and technology platforms.
End-to-End Program Management
Direct the overall integration program, establishing and managing the Integration Management Office (IMO). Develop comprehensive project plans, synergy models, risk mitigation strategies, and communication plans. Ensure rigorous tracking of milestones, interdependencies, and financial targets, providing regular, transparent updates to steering committees and executive sponsors.
Functional Integration Oversight

Synergy and Value Capture

We are seeking a high-caliber professional with deep expertise and a proven history of leading successful M&A integrations in a demanding, client-facing environment.
Professional Experience
A minimum of 12-15+ years of relevant professional experience, with a significant portion spent within a top-tier management consulting firm, Big Four advisory practice, or a corporate development/strategy role with extensive M&A integration responsibilities. Must have direct, hands-on experience leading multiple large-scale PMI programs from strategy to execution.
Educational Background
An MBA or other relevant advanced degree from a top-tier institution is strongly preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field is required.
Core M&A and PMI Expertise
Deep, demonstrable expertise across the entire M&A lifecycle, with a particular emphasis on post-merger integration. Mastery of PMI methodologies, including IMO setup and management, synergy tracking, operating model design, and functional integration planning.
