Key Responsibilities of Chief Human Resources Officer with a Global Retailer – Tampa, FL

The Chief Human Resources Officer will have a broad and impactful scope of responsibilities, designed to align the people strategy with the overarching business goals. Key duties include:

Strategic HR Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team on all human capital matters.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, forward-looking HR strategy that supports the company’s long-term vision and operational plans.
  • Translate business strategies into actionable HR initiatives that drive performance, engagement, and profitability.
  • Utilize data and analytics to provide insights on workforce trends, organizational health, and the ROI of HR programs.

Talent Management & Acquisition

Organizational Development & Culture

  • Act as the primary steward of the company culture, championing the organization’s values and ensuring they are embedded in all people processes.

  • Develop and deploy employee engagement and listening strategies (e.g., surveys, focus groups) and translate feedback into meaningful action plans.

Total Rewards & Executive Compensation

  • Design and administer a competitive and equitable global total rewards strategy, including base pay, incentive plans, and long-term equity programs.
  • Oversee the company’s benefits programs, ensuring they are cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with the needs of a diverse workforce.
  • Partner with the Board of Directors’ Compensation Committee on all aspects of executive compensation design and governance.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

Requirements for the Chief Human Resources Officer with a Global Retailer – Tampa, FL

The ideal candidate is a seasoned, strategic, and empathetic leader with a deep understanding of the complexities of a global retail environment. We are seeking an individual with the following qualifications:

Educational Background

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is highly preferred. SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification is a plus.

Executive Experience

A minimum of 15-20 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 7-10 years in a senior HR leadership role (e.g., VP of HR, CHRO) for a large, complex organization.

Industry Expertise

Significant experience within the retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or hospitality industries is strongly preferred. Experience in a publicly-traded company is highly desirable.

Global Leadership
