Key Responsibilities of VP, Corporate FP&A, Global Lead with a Public FinTech – Charlotte, NC

Strategic Financial Leadership & Planning

Spearhead the global annual budgeting process, quarterly re-forecasting, and the development of the multi-year long-range strategic financial plan. Collaborate directly with the C-suite to translate corporate strategy into actionable financial targets and operational plans.

Advanced Financial Modeling & Analysis

Develop and maintain sophisticated, driver-based financial models to support decision-making for various scenarios, including new product launches, market expansions, and capital structure changes. Provide in-depth analysis of key business drivers, trends, and performance indicators (KPIs).

Executive & Board-Level Reporting

Oversee the preparation and delivery of comprehensive financial reporting packages for the executive team, the Board of Directors, and key stakeholders. Translate complex financial data into clear, concise, and actionable insights that tell the story behind the numbers.

Public Company & Investor Relations Support

Play a pivotal role in the quarterly earnings cycle, including supporting the preparation of earnings releases, call scripts, and investor presentations. Ensure financial narratives are consistent and support the company’s strategic messaging to the investment community. Your work will directly support compliance with SEC reporting requirements.

Business Partnership & Decision Support

Act as a trusted financial advisor to global business unit leaders and department heads. Provide robust analytical support for strategic initiatives, evaluate ROI on major investments, and help functional leaders manage their P&Ls effectively to achieve corporate goals.

Team Development & Global Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global FP&A team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and continuous improvement. Set clear goals and provide the guidance necessary for team members to grow their careers and contribute at the highest level.

Process Optimization & Systems Enhancement

Continuously evaluate and improve FP&A processes, systems, and tools to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Champion the adoption of best-in-class technologies and methodologies to enhance the company’s financial planning and analytical capabilities.

Cash Flow & Balance Sheet Forecasting

Own the comprehensive forecasting of the company’s cash flow, balance sheet, and capital expenditures. Partner with the Treasury and Accounting teams to ensure a holistic view of the company’s financial health and liquidity.

M&A and Corporate Development Analysis

Partner with the corporate development team to evaluate potential acquisition targets. Lead the financial due diligence process, develop valuation models, and assess the financial impact and synergy potential of proposed transactions.

Requirements for the VP, Corporate FP&A, Global Lead with a Public FinTech – Charlotte, NC

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field is required. An MBA from a top-tier institution and/or a CPA designation is highly preferred.

Executive Experience

A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or a related field. This must include at least 7 years in a significant leadership capacity, managing and developing a team of finance professionals.

Public Company Expertise

Demonstrable, hands-on experience in a senior FP&A role within a publicly traded company is a non-negotiable requirement. Deep familiarity with the cadence and demands of quarterly earnings cycles, investor relations support, and SEC regulations is essential.

Industry Relevance

Significant experience within the FinTech, financial services, technology (SaaS), or payments industries is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will understand the unique business models, metrics, and competitive landscapes of these sectors.

Global Leadership

Proven experience managing a geographically dispersed or global team and overseeing financial planning for international operations.

Technical & Analytical Skills

Expert-level proficiency in complex financial modeling and valuation techniques. Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and key accounting principles. Extensive experience with enterprise-level ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and advanced EPM/BI tools (e.g., Anaplan, Hyperion, Adaptive Insights, Tableau).

Strategic Acumen

Superior strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. The ability to see the ‘big picture’ and connect financial details to broader business objectives.

Communication & Influence

Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills. Must possess the executive presence and credibility to effectively communicate with and influence the C-suite, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
