The Chief People Officer will have a broad and impactful scope of responsibilities, driving the human capital agenda across the global organization. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to build a scalable, data-driven, and employee-centric People function.

Strategic Leadership & Executive Partnership

  • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing expert counsel and insight on all people-related matters, including organizational design, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, long-term human capital strategy that directly supports and accelerates the company’s ambitious business goals.
  • Champion the company’s culture and values, ensuring they are embedded in all aspects of the employee experience and serve as a guide for decision-making.
  • Utilize data analytics and HR metrics to provide insights, inform strategy, and measure the effectiveness of people initiatives, reporting key findings to the executive team and Board of Directors.
  • Lead the People function through potential M&A activities, overseeing due diligence, integration planning, and execution to ensure a seamless cultural and operational transition.

Talent Acquisition & Management

  • Design and implement a sophisticated, global talent acquisition strategy to attract and hire top-tier, diverse talent, particularly for highly specialized engineering and technical roles.

  • Build a scalable, efficient recruiting engine, leveraging technology and best practices to optimize the candidate experience and hiring manager satisfaction.

Organizational Development & Culture

  • Act as the primary steward of the company culture, initiating programs that promote engagement, collaboration, innovation, and a sense of belonging.
  • Spearhead Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, developing a clear strategy with measurable goals to build a more diverse workforce and an inclusive environment where every employee can thrive.
  • Implement effective employee feedback mechanisms, such as engagement surveys and focus groups, and translate feedback into actionable improvement plans.

Total Rewards & HR Operations

  • Design and administer a competitive and equitable total rewards strategy, including compensation, equity, benefits, and recognition programs, that aligns with the company’s philosophy and attracts and retains top talent.
  • Ensure the HR technology stack (HRIS, ATS, etc.) is optimized to support the needs of a growing, global organization, providing a seamless user experience and valuable data insights.
  • Oversee all HR operations, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant, and scalable. This includes payroll, benefits administration, and HR policy management.
  • Partner with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and international labor laws and regulations. The role requires a deep understanding of strategic human resource management principles to navigate complex legal landscapes.

Required Qualifications

Experience

A minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 7-10 years in a senior leadership role (VP or CPO level) overseeing the entire HR function.

Industry Background

Significant experience within the technology sector is required. Direct experience in the semiconductor, hardware, or deep-tech industries is strongly preferred.

Growth-Stage Expertise

Proven success in scaling a People function within a high-growth, fast-paced organization, ideally from a venture-backed stage through significant milestones like pre-IPO or rapid public company expansion.

Global Leadership

Demonstrable experience managing HR for a global and distributed workforce, with a nuanced understanding of international employment laws and cultural differences.

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field is required.

Strategic Acumen

A strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable HR initiatives and the capacity to operate at both the strategic and tactical levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in HR, or JD) is highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP are a plus.
