Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), the EVP of Global Sales will be the architect of the company’s global sales strategy and the driving force behind its execution. You will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and expanding a world-class team of sales professionals across North America, EMEA, and APAC. This role requires a strategic thinker who can operate at the 30,000-foot level, defining long-term go-to-market strategies, while also being able to dive into the details of pipeline management, deal execution, and team performance. You will be instrumental in shaping the company’s culture of success, accountability, and customer-centricity.

Key Responsibilities of EVP, Global Sales with a Cybersecurity Vendor – Boston, MA

Strategic Sales Leadership

Develop, articulate, and execute a comprehensive global sales strategy that aligns with the company’s revenue and growth targets. Define and manage sales territories, quotas, and compensation plans to maximize sales effectiveness and motivation.

Revenue Generation & Growth

Assume full responsibility for achieving and exceeding global sales targets. Implement rigorous sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance tracking processes to ensure predictability and accountability across the organization.

Team Building & Development

Recruit, hire, train, and mentor a high-performance global sales organization, including VPs of Sales, Regional Directors, Enterprise Account Executives, and Sales Engineers. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and winning.

Go-to-Market (GTM) Execution

Collaborate with the executive team, particularly Marketing and Product, to refine and execute a multi-channel GTM strategy. Ensure tight alignment between sales and marketing efforts, from lead generation to deal closure.

Channel & Alliance Strategy

Design and scale a world-class global channel and alliance program. Identify, recruit, and manage strategic partners, including VARs, MSSPs, and technology alliance partners, to extend market reach and accelerate revenue growth.

Operational Excellence

Implement and enforce a standardized sales methodology (e.g., MEDDIC, Challenger Sale) to improve sales process efficiency and win rates. Leverage CRM tools like Salesforce to provide deep insights into sales performance and drive data-driven decision-making.

Executive Sponsorship & Customer Advocacy

Act as a key executive sponsor for strategic customer accounts and complex deals. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

Stay abreast of the rapidly evolving cybersecurity threat landscape and competitive environment. Provide critical market feedback to the Product and Engineering teams to influence the product roadmap and maintain a competitive edge, staying ahead of trends often highlighted in reports like the Gartner Magic Quadrant.

Financial Management

Develop and manage the global sales budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to drive maximum return on investment. Provide regular, transparent reporting on sales performance to the CRO, CEO, and Board of Directors.

Requirements for the EVP, Global Sales with a Cybersecurity Vendor – Boston, MA

Extensive Sales Leadership Experience

A minimum of 15+ years of experience in enterprise software sales, with at least 7-10 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., VP or EVP of Sales) managing large, global sales teams.

Cybersecurity Domain Expertise

Deep and demonstrable experience within the cybersecurity industry is mandatory. Familiarity with areas such as endpoint security, cloud security (CWPP/CSPM), threat intelligence, network security, or identity and access management is highly desirable.

Proven Track Record of Scaling

A quantifiable history of scaling a sales organization through significant growth phases (e.g., from $50M to $200M+ ARR). Experience in a fast-paced, venture-backed environment is strongly preferred.

Global Experience

Proven success in building and managing sales teams and operations across multiple international regions, including North America, EMEA, and APAC.

Strategic & Analytical Mindset

Strong ability to think strategically and translate high-level strategy into actionable plans. Highly analytical and data-driven, with expertise in sales metrics, forecasting, and pipeline analysis.

Inspirational Leadership

Exceptional leadership and people management skills. A demonstrated ability to attract, retain, and develop top-tier sales talent. Must be a player-coach who can lead by example.

C-Level Presence

Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. The ability to command a room and effectively engage with C-level executives, board members, and key industry influencers.

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required. An MBA or other advanced degree is highly preferred.

Location

Ability to work from the Boston, MA headquarters and travel globally as required (approximately 30-40%).
