The Senior Vice President of Investment Operations will hold ultimate responsibility for the leadership, strategic direction, and flawless execution of the firm’s operational functions. This includes trade support, settlements, collateral management, corporate actions, reconciliation, portfolio accounting, and performance reporting. Strategic Leadership and Vision
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic vision for the Investment Operations department that aligns with the firm’s overall business goals. Drive transformational projects and change management initiatives to enhance operational capabilities and support new products and investment strategies.
Operational Excellence and Process Optimization
Oversee all aspects of the trade lifecycle, from execution support to settlement and reconciliation, across all asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives, alternatives). Continuously evaluate and re-engineer workflows to improve straight-through processing (STP) rates, reduce operational risk, and increase efficiency.
Team Management and Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of operations professionals. Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture, set clear performance expectations, and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities to ensure team growth and succession planning.
Technology and Innovation
Partner with the Chief Technology Officer to identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies and systems (e.g., OMS, PMS, reconciliation tools) that enhance automation, improve data integrity, and provide a competitive edge. Champion the use of data analytics to derive operational insights and drive decision-making.
Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance
Establish and maintain a robust operational risk framework, including key risk indicators (KRIs) and control self-assessments. Ensure all operational activities strictly adhere to internal policies and external regulatory compliance standards from bodies like the SEC and FINRA. Act as the primary liaison for internal and external audits related to operations.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
Manage and cultivate strong relationships with key external partners, including custodians, prime brokers, fund administrators, and technology vendors. Conduct regular service reviews to ensure performance meets or exceeds service level agreements (SLAs).
Portfolio Accounting and Reporting
Supervise the portfolio accounting, NAV calculation, and reconciliation processes to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of investment data. Oversee the generation of performance and client reporting, ensuring data integrity and clarity.
Corporate Actions and Asset Servicing
Ensure the timely and accurate processing of all mandatory and voluntary corporate actions, income, and dividend events. Mitigate risks associated with complex events and ensure investment decisions are executed properly.
Collateral Management and Treasury Operations
Oversee daily collateral management processes for derivative and financing transactions, optimizing collateral usage and minimizing funding costs. Ensure efficient cash and FX management to support trading and investment activities.
Project Management
Lead and sponsor critical departmental and firm-wide projects, such as system implementations, new fund launches, and regulatory change initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

Experience
A minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in investment operations within a large investment manager, hedge fund, or asset servicing firm, with at least 7 years in a significant leadership capacity managing large, diverse teams.
Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An MBA or other advanced degree is highly preferred.
Professional Certifications
CFA, CAIA, or other relevant professional designations are a significant plus.
Asset Class Knowledge
Deep, demonstrable expertise across a wide range of asset classes, including public equities, fixed income, OTC and exchange-traded derivatives, private equity, and other alternative investments.
Technical Skills
Advanced knowledge of investment operations systems and platforms (e.g., BlackRock Aladdin, SimCorp Dimension, Geneva, Eze). Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools is highly desirable.
