Key Responsibilities of Managing Director, TMT with a Venture Capital Fund – Menlo Park, CA
Deal Sourcing and Pipeline Development
Proactively identify and cultivate a high-quality pipeline of investment opportunities within the TMT sector. Leverage and expand your extensive network of entrepreneurs, industry executives, angel investors, and other venture capitalists to generate proprietary deal flow.
Due Diligence and Investment Analysis
Lead comprehensive due diligence processes for potential investments. This includes in-depth analysis of business models, market size, competitive landscape, technology, product-market fit, financial projections, and management teams. Build and scrutinize complex financial models to assess valuation and potential returns.
Deal Execution and Negotiation
Structure and negotiate investment terms, leading the entire transaction process from term sheet to closing. Collaborate with legal, financial, and other external advisors to ensure successful and efficient deal execution.
Portfolio Management and Value Creation
Serve as an active and engaged board member for portfolio companies. Provide strategic guidance, operational support, and mentorship to founders and management teams. Help companies with key initiatives such as product strategy, go-to-market planning, executive hiring, and future fundraising.
Thought Leadership and Network Building

Fundraising and Limited Partner Relations
Support the General Partners in fundraising activities for future funds. Prepare materials, participate in investor meetings, and effectively communicate the fund’s strategy, portfolio performance, and market outlook to current and prospective Limited Partners.
Team Leadership and Mentorship
Mentor and develop junior investment professionals within the firm. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that encourages intellectual curiosity, rigorous analysis, and a commitment to excellence. Contribute to the overall strategic direction and management of the venture capital fund.
Exit Strategy and Realization
Actively manage the path to liquidity for portfolio companies. Identify and evaluate potential exit opportunities, including M&A and IPOs, working closely with company management and investment bankers to maximize returns for the fund.

Experience
A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in venture capital, private equity, corporate development, investment banking, or a senior operating role (e.g., CEO, CTO, Head of Product) at a high-growth technology company.
