The Vice President of Logistics Operations will have a broad and impactful scope of responsibilities, encompassing strategic planning, financial oversight, operational execution, and team leadership.
Strategic & Executive Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, long-term operational strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives, growth targets, and financial goals.
- Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, providing critical operational insights and contributing to the overall strategic direction of the company.
- Lead network design and capacity planning initiatives to ensure the operational infrastructure can support current and future business growth.
- Champion the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, including automation, robotics, and advanced Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), to drive efficiency and competitive advantage.
- Establish and monitor a robust framework of operational KPIs, metrics, and reporting to track performance against strategic goals and identify areas for improvement.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Direct and oversee all aspects of multi-site operations, including inbound logistics, warehousing, inventory control, order fulfillment, value-added services, and outbound transportation.
- Instill a culture of continuous improvement by deploying LEAN methodologies, Six Sigma principles, and other best practices across all facilities.
- Ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT, etc.) are maintained throughout the operational network.
- Develop and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across all client accounts and locations.
- Partner with IT and engineering teams to optimize facility layouts, workflows, and systems configurations for maximum productivity and accuracy.
Financial Management & P&L Ownership
- Assume full P&L responsibility for the entire operations division, managing a significant multi-million dollar budget.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process for all operational departments, ensuring financial discipline and resource alignment.
- Analyze financial performance, operational costs, and labor productivity to identify opportunities for cost reduction and margin enhancement.
- Develop and approve capital expenditure proposals (CapEx) for new equipment, technology, and facility enhancements, building strong business cases to justify investments.
- Work closely with the sales and solutions design teams to develop competitive pricing and operational models for new business proposals.
Client Relationship Management
- Act as the executive sponsor for key strategic client accounts, fostering strong, collaborative partnerships at a senior level.
- Ensure all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contractual obligations are consistently met or exceeded, driving exceptional client satisfaction and retention.
- Lead and participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with major clients, presenting performance data, strategic initiatives, and opportunities for partnership growth.
- Serve as the ultimate escalation point for resolving complex operational or client service issues.

We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record of executive leadership and deep expertise within the 3PL industry.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role (Director, Senior Director, or VP) specifically within a 3PL environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing full P&L for a multi-site operational division with revenues exceeding $75 million annually.
- Extensive hands-on experience managing complex warehousing, distribution, and e-commerce fulfillment operations.
- Proven success in leading large, diverse teams (200+ employees) across multiple facilities, including salaried managers and hourly associates.
- Expert-level knowledge of modern Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- A strong command of financial analysis, budgeting, and operational cost modeling.
- Demonstrable experience in driving large-scale continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executive leadership, clients, and front-line employees.
- Willingness and ability to be based in the Memphis, TN metropolitan area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An MBA or other advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Professional certifications such as CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CLTD (Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution) from recognized industry bodies like the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).
- Experience with implementing advanced warehouse automation and robotics systems.
- Experience in high-growth environments, including new facility startups and the integration of acquired businesses.
