You will be responsible for a wide range of strategic functions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), market intelligence, strategic planning, and special projects initiated by the C-suite. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong bias for action, possessing a deep understanding of the FinTech ecosystem and a proven track record of driving impactful strategic initiatives from conception to execution. Key Responsibilities of VP, Corporate Strategy with a FinTech Company – Dallas, TX

The VP of Corporate Strategy will have a broad and impactful mandate. Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Strategic Planning & Execution

Lead the annual and long-range strategic planning process in collaboration with the executive team. Translate high-level strategic goals into actionable, cross-functional initiatives with clear ownership, timelines, and KPIs. Ensure strategic alignment across all business units, including Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

Drive the end-to-end M&A process. This includes developing the M&A thesis, identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets, building robust financial models, leading due diligence efforts, structuring and negotiating deals, and collaborating on post-merger integration plans to ensure value realization.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

Build and maintain a world-class market intelligence function. Continuously monitor the competitive landscape, identify market shifts, and analyze emerging FinTech trends and disruptive technologies. Synthesize this information into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for the leadership team.

New Growth Opportunities

Proactively identify and assess new avenues for growth, including new market entry, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and new product or service offerings. Develop comprehensive business cases for these opportunities, complete with market sizing, financial projections, and risk analysis.

Executive & Board Advisory

Serve as a trusted advisor to the C-suite and Board of Directors. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, data-driven reports, and strategic frameworks to facilitate decision-making on critical issues such as corporate investments, resource allocation, and long-term business strategy.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Lead and manage high-priority, cross-functional strategic projects. Foster a collaborative environment and work closely with leaders across the organization to ensure the successful implementation of key strategic initiatives.

Team Leadership

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing corporate strategy team. Cultivate a culture of analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, and strategic thinking within the team and the broader organization.

Requirements for the VP, Corporate Strategy with a FinTech Company – Dallas, TX

We are seeking an exceptional leader with a unique blend of strategic acumen, financial expertise, and operational drive. The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Experience

A minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field.

Education

An MBA or other advanced degree from a top-tier institution is strongly preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline is required.

Industry Expertise

Deep and demonstrable experience within the FinTech, financial services, or B2B SaaS technology sectors is mandatory. You must be fluent in the language and dynamics of the modern financial technology landscape.

M&A Track Record

Proven, hands-on experience leading multiple M&A transactions through the entire deal lifecycle, from sourcing and due diligence to negotiation and integration.

Analytical & Financial Skills

Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and financial modeling skills. You must be an expert in valuation methodologies, financial analysis, and the creation of complex, data-driven business cases.

Leadership & Influence

Superior executive presence and communication skills, with the proven ability to articulate complex strategies and influence decision-making at the highest levels of an organization, including the C-suite and Board of Directors.

Strategic Mindset

A highly strategic, curious, and forward-thinking individual who can connect disparate dots, anticipate future market trends, and formulate a clear, compelling vision for the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, such as a venture capital or private equity-backed company.
  • Direct operational experience within a FinTech company is a significant plus.
  • Established network within the FinTech, venture capital, and investment banking communities.
  • Experience in global market expansion and international strategy.
