Strategic Business Development & Market Growth
- Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy to capture market share and drive aggressive revenue growth for the Charlotte Financial Services practice.
- Originate and lead complex, multi-million dollar sales pursuits from initial contact through to closing, consistently exceeding sales targets.
- Cultivate and maintain a robust network of C-level executives and key decision-makers within the region’s top financial institutions.
- Act as a brand ambassador, representing the firm at industry conferences, publishing thought leadership, and enhancing the firm’s reputation as a leader in financial services consulting.
Client Engagement & Delivery Excellence
- Serve as the Engagement Partner on the practice’s most strategic and complex client projects, providing senior oversight and ensuring the highest standards of quality and value.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior clients, offering expert counsel on critical issues such as digital transformation, operational efficiency, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage overall engagement economics, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the client’s utmost satisfaction.
- Proactively identify opportunities to expand the firm’s footprint within existing client accounts by understanding their evolving business needs.
Practice Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of Principals, Managers, and Consultants, fostering a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Take an active role in the full talent lifecycle, including recruiting top-tier talent, conducting performance reviews, and developing career paths for team members.
- Champion the development of new intellectual capital, innovative service offerings, and proprietary methodologies to maintain the firm’s competitive edge.
- Manage the practice’s P&L, including forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
Requirements for the Partner, Financial Services with a Consulting Firm – Charlotte, NC
The ideal candidate is a seasoned consulting leader with deep industry expertise, a powerful professional network, and an undeniable track record of building successful practices.
- A minimum of 15-20 years of professional experience, with at least 10 years in a management consulting role focused exclusively on the financial services industry.
- Currently or recently in a Partner, Principal, or Managing Director role at a reputable consulting firm.
- A demonstrable and consistent track record of selling and managing a portfolio of consulting work exceeding $5 million in annual revenue.
- Deep subject matter expertise in at least one of the following sectors: Retail & Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, Wealth & Asset Management, or Insurance.
- Proven experience leading large-scale transformation programs in areas such as digital strategy, core systems modernization, data analytics, risk and compliance frameworks, or M&A integration. A deep understanding of navigating complex challenges like the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) regulations is essential.
- An established and credible network of senior-level executives (C-suite and their direct reports) within the Charlotte financial services ecosystem.
- Exceptional executive presence, with outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership and people development skills, with a passion for mentoring and growing talent.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Economics, or Business Administration is required. An MBA or other advanced degree from a top-tier university is strongly preferred.
